Run off taking longer

Ideally how long should it take for me to get the runoff after watering

This depends from medium to medium, how dry your medium is, and how large your container is. In short, no actual answer. Sorry.:upside_down_face:

5gal fabric pot and is dry enough to feel the weight difference… im watering them 1 gal every 2 days

So far 15 minutes and no runoff…im guess they need more water on… next watering I’ll bump it up because i just gave them nuts

Sometimes it can take a lil help from you. Make a wet spot in the center bottom of the outside of your pot, then water plant. I know it sounds weird but it works for me with fabric pots…

Thanks I’ll give that a try

As they get bigger they use more so soil will be dryer and soak up more.
By time mine get good size, 1 gal isnt enough for me to get much run off alot of times in 5gal.
Just increase the amount of water you give. .

To frequent of watering can hurt them but you cant “over water” by giving to much at once.

You can wash out nutrients so dont over do it of course, but just water untill you get the runoff amount you want no matter how much it takes :+1:

If you have a pan under the bottom of the fabric pots you can water from the bottom and the substrate will soak up the water. I don’t like run off from my fabric pots all the time

In my 5 gallon pots it takes 1-1/2 gallons to get about 20% runoff I’m using FF HF with perlite
