My ro water ph is 6.2 my well water is7 with no chlorine and some mineral content,my plants show low calcium.I just started fox farms trio at half strength with no calcium addition.Plants show good growth and vigor.This is my first grow and it’s indoor with good led lites

How are the ppms to that tap? If under 75 id use it. Cheaper. But the RO works fine as well

What’s the ph of both once you’ve mixed nutrients?
I had an issue of salt binding using fox farm soil with gh nutes, made me swap to ro…
I had 200 ppm of farm runoff which seems to be higher in nitrogen then anything else but was enough to mess me up… I was a few grows in so most likely a little over confidence as well.

I started off with well water and Fox Farm trio and dealt with a lot of nutrient lock out from minerals building up in the soil. I had to flush many times. Switched to RO water and was issue free

When I mixed the nutes with ro the ph did not change. I’m using the test kit from my pool supplies and it only goes to 6.8. I haven’t tried the well water yet.the 6.2 ph was when my water guy tested the ro after installing system.I’m a total newbie to all of this,but I really do enjoy this and want to get better

You will need a more accurate PH meter. The strips are too vague. Apera and Blue lab are both good brands. It’s one tool you want to invest in

Not up to speed yet on ppm and runoff still getting my feet wet. I kinda bought seeds and jumped in without knowing much, I’m an old guy from the 70’s who thought I’ll just plant some seeds and see what happens.Indoor growing not as easy as I thought.

Don’t let a 50-70 dollar price tag for an apera PH meter sacre you. The 12 dollar ones are crap and you will go through them. I went through 2 in last grow alone. They don’t hold calibration well at all. The Apera model is much nicer, oh and waterproof if you get the right one. It even has a lil smiley face icon that lets you know when the reading is stable. Apera’s ph meter will also adjust itself to compensate for liquid temperature, which can alter the reading, lil yellow’s got nothing on these ph pens.

Good soil. Me personally I would not worry to much about run off right now that soil is good for seeding and good for maybe till ready to transplant after plants are established. . And yes invest in a good ph pen. What and read a lot about feeding and watering you have a good month to study.
Oh sorry happy frog is ok. For seedings. I would think about fox farm ocean forest when you transplant.
