Thank you for the info @JaneQP. Sounds like you have it figured out and you know what you are doing. That is where I want to get to; I need to understand and keep it as simple as possible. Obviously I am nowhere near that. Keep working on it!
I am still learning every grow. Just keep surfing the site until you find a grower that grows in the style you want and don’t be shy about asking questions. You will find a method that works for you! I’ll am always here to help and if I can’t answer a question I will try to tag in other growers that may have suggestions. Take care!
@Budz Just saw your post about foxtailing. Does this bud look like that is what is going on? Or is it normal? I am talking about the clusters of pistils on the right side and top of the cola in the center. Wondering about it because I believe it is caused by high temps, which I have been battling for the last two months.
That’s just normal stacking. Buds pushing other buds while fattening. Fox tailing is new growth after there should only really be maturation. Like this.
Like it’s trying to start a whole new bud. On top of existing cola.
A few more pictures from yesterday. These are exciting pictures for me being she is my first. I know, ain’t much compared to much of what I see in this forum, but “she is my girl, my girl, my girl…”
Not knowing better, I think she looks ok. Hoping the buds fatten up.
@Hellraiser @oldmarine Trichomes are clear I believe. Reckon she has two or three weeks left before the trichomes are 1/3 amber? I am guessing she is an Indica dominant plant. In my reading I think I saw different considerations for Indica vs Sativa as far as trichome color. For Indica I prefer more toward couch lock, which is why I am leaning toward some amber versus just clear and milky.
As always, your time to assist me is appreciated. Any and all comments welcome.
Copy all @Budz. Comprende. Thank you very much for your help.
Looking good, yeah couple/few more weeks to go.
Thank you!
Today we fed two gallons (half tap, half rainwater) with 2/3 of FF week 8 prescription (7ml Bloom), 1/2 t Cha Ching, 2 ml Micro-Boost (trace minerals), 2 ml Cal Mag, 10 ml SLF100, dash of Silica (80 ppm). In at 6.5/740, 3.6 C out 6.1/1610.
Still fighting to keep temp and humidity down (last week 72-82F, 43-63RH), but it appears autumn arrives next week and we get relief.
Runoff numbers surprised me. Wish I knew what composes the runoff. Next time coco coir…
Studying continues, but still very much to figure out…
I used part tap water and the Micro-Boost because it looks like most trace minerals (Boron, etc) are in the soil, hence also in tap water. In my case, I am not growing in soil and was using rain water, so several trace minerals (do not remember all of them) may be needed. What I read said shortages of these are rare, however.
The thought she is missing something or is not quite right is still niggling at me, but I don’t think I have figured it out and have not gotten any feedback, so we press on. The red/brown discoloration is only on sugar leaves, and the fading could be her nearing end of life. This particular moment if I had to bet I would say light burn for the red and brown, even though the lights are further away than recommended. There is also a possibility that this is all normal for her. When I look at past photos of her, it is amazing how much her appearance has transformed in the last six weeks, so just because these things are going on with her foliage, it doesn’t have to follow there is a problem.
As usual, the thoughts of others are welcome.
The sugar leaf with fading/reddening
Caught her sleeping
This morning
Yeah looks about 3 weeks out.
Doesn’t look bad, just a little fade nearing harvest time, could just be genetic coloring coming in.
@Hellraiser
Thank you very much for your input. You greatly eased my mind.
I am working my way through your journal, which is an amazing collection of valuable information. Your unselfishness in taking time to guide scores of us inexperienced growers is commendable.
Cheers!
Some of you may have heard me sigh in relief. Both Hellraiser and Low are of the belief our girl is ok and I am perhaps overly cautious and nervous. I will buy what they are selling!
Pictures from today. I can’t get enough of the bud closeups; they are amazing and beautiful to me. Still seeing clear trichs.
Looks like strain coloring to me… Think they’re going to be great.
I appreciate that very much, @Newt. Let’s go with that thought!
Day 58 of flower.
Watered (tap) 2.3 G yesterday with Epsom salts and SLF100, 6.5/470. Runoff 6C, 6.1/1110.
She continues to yellow.
Fall arrived, and I am now able to keep the temp under 80 and RH below 50. Last 24 hours 68-79F, 41-49RH. The Govee wifi thermo/hygro was very valuable in trying to regulate the environment. Got the idea from @CygnusX1. Thank you!
Grow lite off, iPhone flash.
Do the trichomes look almost all clear?
Taken with digital microscope

And a couple of standard poses.
Comments and suggestions welcome!
@Hellraiser
I almost have permission to get a second tent. Looks like I may be granted use of the entire spare room, not just the closet. Going with a 2x4 for flowering.
I am looking at HLG lights probably. I see nothing but good things about them.
The 260 Watt V2 Quantum Board LED Kit (DIY) mentioned in post #373 of Hellraiser grows Gorilla Glue and other stuff - #377 by dp69 looks like a good choice. Also looking at two 135W QB V2 Rspec LED Kits. Are these good choices? Would you recommend something different?
Anyone else with thoughts, please chime in.
260 XL version would be the one to get for a 4x2, 2 135 rspecs would be just as good, other choices would be the HLG 350r, also some nice lights by ChilLED for a 4x2.
Thank you. I will look at the other two you mentioned.
The 260 is essentially two 135s seems to me. Can’t decide if two smaller or one larger would be best all around.
Yeah it is. The benefit of the the 260 xl would be the large heatsink, it’d keep the drivers and boards cooler. The benefit of 2 135s would be being able to place them wherever, have one higher or lower depending on plant height.
I am an electronics technician from way back, and I firmly believe in two things: heat dissipation and clean AC.
