Well I am a first time grower and need to know when I am in my flower stage . Do I run red and white lights and no blue … or all red only ? I have search the internet and still cant get a straight answer . I appreciate your help in this matter
Depending on how big is your light (you need 35-50w real watts per square feet). I use all my led lights(blue and red) for entire process sprout harvest.
Most LEDs off Amazon are full spectrum light- meaning they have a decent amount of both red and blue light. In general blue light is better for Veg and red light is better for flowering. You’ll want to look at the color spectrum chart associated with your light to see where it falls.
Maybe @dbrn32 can explain the details a little better?
Do we know what method we’re using to control the amount of lights? If you’re using veg and bloom switches, run them both in flowering stage.
The real deal here is that all of those lights will be used in flowering. We typically just try to limit the amount of red during veg to keep stretching at bay. If you have the proper ratio of red to blue, it’s entirely possible to successfully run them all from start to finish.
White light provides varying amounts of blue, green, and red wavelengths depending on color temp. It’s entirely possible to provide the “right amount” of each by using white light only.
Outside of knowing the exact application. I would say to use the blue and white light for veg, then leave those on and add the reds during flower. The white light will add photons across the spectrum, the blue should help in that department as well while also putting in some good resin production.
