I heard about Blue Lab being a great brand. What about any for under 20?

I’ve had several cheap TDS pens with no issues, don’t cheap out on the PH pen though :love_you_gesture:

An Apera PC60 measures both pH and PPM. You will struggle to find a PPM meter that get the job done for < $20.

I spent 50 on Apera 20 PH pen

Apera and Bluelab both offer great PPM/EC pins.

Do not forget the old adage…You get what you pay for. BL and Apera are solid and alot of us use them.

Just so you know Brother. This is not for TDS. Apera makes a multi tool but the pH20 is for pH only and the TDS20 is for PPM’s.

Yes I know. I was just looking at that meter on amazon. Should I give it a shot?

I was referring to your original query about a PPM/TDS pen. Then you said you bought the Apera 20 pH pen.

Absolutely.

I’d question if the meter in that Amazon link would maintain its calibration for more than a couple of months.

I just ordered the one from the link you sent me. I didn’t cheap out on the PH pen tho.

That one with proper care and storage will last you awhile. Years. Just need to calibrate once in awhile, not cuz it is out of whack, more a calibration QC check.

Talking about the Apera. Not the Off Brand link. I was just looking for under 20.00 options and that came up.

Good luck on your grows!!

How far should my grow light be from my plants? I have one plant that’s getting tall and close to light.

I use the apera for pH testing in hydro its well worth the investment. To measure TDS I just use this or a similar one to monitor nutrient strength or salt build up in my system. I have like 5 of them sitting around they all read the within 30 ppm of each other.

How are ppms adjusted when too high or too low?

I use DLI for this and never get closer than 12" from top of canopy to light.
