Yes, lack of light intensity makes the plant stretch, trying to get more light. I’d go ahead and get the other light going and start it about 24" over the plant, should not fry it as those “600 watt” led lights are nowhere near 600 real watts, more like 100-250 watts depending on the exact model.
Thank you so much I will switch the lights out. Here is the other light make details: MAXSISUN 600W LED Grow Light, Full Spectrum LED Grow Lights for Indoor Plants Veg and Bloom, Plant Growing Lamps to Cover a 2x2ft Flowering Space (60pcs 10W Double Chips).
I really appreciate all the help😊
Yep, that Maxisun 600 watt light is actually only 134 watts (just looked it up), so will be fine about 20-24" inches above your plant and will stop the stretching.
Oh no one of my seedling cups fell over and this guy who was just starting in the soil needs to go back in. Will it still grow would I put the white tail going down or up?
I hope he can be saved
Put it back in the soil tail down, round head up near the soil top, water a little if needed, could make it.
My little friend who is about over a month old now looks good to me but I am really worried two rounded leaves are browning and falling off I was told this was normal but now a leaf on the next row is curling at the tip. What can this mean? Also at this age what is best light cycle?
Ignore my grow area I swear I ordered a tent it is on it’s way
Standard veg light cycle is 18 on/6 off. It is normal for the first rounded leaves (the cotyledons) to die off. Plant looks hungry and is not getting enough light intensity to really thrive, Time to start feeding some nutes and get a better light if you want to get something worthwhile out of it.
Thank you so much! I had not even thought about nutrients ordered some now.
I’m getting a new tent 48x24x60 and I’ll get a new light what is your best suggestion for a light??
I have ordered two that are not enough third try is the charm:crossed_fingers:
A great light for a 4x2 tent would be a HLG 260xl kit or even better a HLG 320XL kit, or if putting a light together (easy stuff) is not your thing, a commercial prebuilt HLG 300 would be fine as well and grow some serious bud. Think of light as an investment, the better lights you get, the more bud you will harvest.
Awesome! I found the HLG 260xl kit for $369 so I’ll order one of those. Clearly I started this journey very unprepared
Don’t forget the cal/mag
A clear plastic cup will work just fine. I personally have never put holes in my domes. I want the moisture to stay in the dome. Do not directly mist your seedling the droplets act as magnifiers and can burn spots on your leave. Also make sure you cut away the bottom of the peat pellet before you transplant her. Good luck @Destinee
Got it thank you so much for that. So I’m curious how do I mist the leaves with the neem oil/dishsoap mixture that is instructed with the Pot for Pot kit? Will that burn the leaves too since you said not to directly spray the plant? Just want to make sure I don’t use it and kill my plant.
Thank you so much for helping this newbie out.
Oh no I do not have that. Placing an order now for Botanicare HGC732110 Cal-Mag Plus, A Calcium, Magnesium, And Iron. Should that be a good one?
Would I add to my water and use with each watering?
I have not been watering alot honnesly very lightly if I feel the soil is dry I tend to over water so I have been being very light this time.
Awesome note about not putting holes in the plastic cup. I ordered these little domes that have a home on the top that I can close I bet they will work well.
Thank you for the help.
Never had a problem with Neem oil.
I prefer to keep all my nutrients in the same product line and family
I use general hydroponics flora series and their advanced nutrient line and Cali magic
I personally feel you should try to stay in a single product family and use those specific nutrients as they are designed to best work together.
Do you mix in the water and mist? That should only be done like weekly correct?
I do not do foliar feedings
You should mix nutrients in water maybe at about 1/4-1/2 recommended dosage. Remember to always add cal/mag even if it’s only a watering
Also checkout autopots, the certainly can make growing in soil/ coco a lot easier
Seems like I keep having awful luck
I woke up today to white on the lower leaf’s
Added cal/mag to water today
Still waiting on nutrients to arrive.
Am I screwed with this one?
