Question about dwc

You know what i never really thought about that. 3 plants in my room would give each a 4.5x2.2 area to grow into. Does hydro really get bigger and produce more than soil based. And how do autos do in hydro

Not necessarily but definitely a lot faster :muscle:t2::green_heart::metal:t2::sunglasses:
Well that’s not true either :person_shrugging:t2:
Things happen alot faster in hydro, you can see your changes.
You can push your Nute numbers

This was a 12 zip auto, a photo period would have netted a pound easy with a little more veg time :love_you_gesture:

The temperature of the nutrient solution is generally optimum between 60° F and 75° F. Some plants such as lettuce, alstroemeria and strawberries like it near the lower end, whereas tomatoes, cucumbers and cannabis do best near 75° F.

I prefer to use hydrogen peroxide when needed and run in a sterile environment.

Greetings, brother.
I bought these 2 DWC 5 gallon bucket set up, do you think I should trash the idea of them and go with something different. I am going to use your schedule and nutrients you hooked me up with and wanted then to see what your recommend tote size to match your amount of nutrients and such. I definitely want all of you guys help when I start out in March. I am very open to your ways not mine.
Take care

morning growmie… I like having the totes as the container instead of the bucket…it gets me more space for nutrients and the roots to spread out and has a lower profile than the bucket…also easier to completely drain like I like to do evert 7 days… I use the 12 gallon tote for my grows…allows me to have up to 6 gallons in there at one time…

what my 3x3 tent looks like…

Greetings, brother.
First thank you for your time and support.

1.Is this for one plant then?

2.Can to many air stones create a problem if I ditch One of the buckets I was just going to put two stones in the 12 gallon tote your recommending.

  1. I can not lift so I was wondering you say how often you change out your tote that I was going to put a drain valve in the bottom, or do you clean out the tote by hand completely and set the plant in a bucket until you clean.

yes only 1 plant in the tote… I believe in not crowding for a better product…I run 4 air stones in my tote…the hole in the front of the tote is where I access it … I use a aquarium stick pump to pump in and out as needed…

Greetings, brother.
Do you do 1 or 2 plants I see 2 spaces and I grow autoflowers I was wondering about over crowding by using both holes. I didn’t know if both was for photoperiod plants.

Ive been using hydro for about a year and a half on indoor veggies.
I know others have way more insight than me, but here are a couple things I ran into on my journey so far…
Air stones clog! And once roots grow to a point its hard to get to them. Work around is to blow air from a compressor through the line.
Some rdwc rigs use air to push water up a line to put water on top of the roots. Others use a separate pump. Pump is more reliable.

With pumps and multi bucket systems you need to have a catch basin that will hold at least 2/3 of all the water in your buckets incase something gets clogged and overflows.
Roots can also grow into drain lines
I got rid of the air in favor of a pump and a watering ring. Its a trade off…
