Quantum board effect on plants

Hi all,

I have one ak47 under a qb324 in a 3x3 space. (More plants to come, as well as one more board)

The plant itself is very crispy to the touch but otherwise seems healthy.ive grown outdoor before and the plants have had much more moisture to the touch.

Is this normal?

Im thinking i could spray the plant with some water to hydrate it

Also the board is about 15 inches above the plant and the plant seems to be growing more compact than tall.

You should be 24" in veg. The Qbs are super strong and my 135w was too much for small plants, i raised it as high as I could go. Or dim it a bit until it gets bigger.

Also from my experience, they will need extra Calmag bc those QBs feed hard!

It looks ok.
What are your temps and rh?

I really like my Qb’s. I’m now 100% QB/cob/light strip. No more blurple.
@Ilovereggae is correct about cal/mag. Keep it in mind as she gets bigger.

temp is around 55degrees, iknow its cold…

havent measured ph yet because i havent added anything and it is in organic soil

what other nutes should i get?

You would be wise to determine the base PH of your soil with a slurry test. If the soil is well crafted you won’t need any nutes until flower at least. I know that’s not sexy like adding stuff but there it is. You REALLY need to get your temps up: that is too low to support any real plant growth. Normal comfort zone for people is what you are after.

the temps will increase once i install the other board

What kind of issues did you have with the QB too close to the plant?

What kind of organic soil?
If you want to stay organic with a “living soil” and not use chemical fertilizer there are many options.
I use mostly Down To Earth Organic products as well as stuff from around the house that are free (ground egg shells, fireplace ashes, citric acid for ph down etc) or close to free that I use to feed the soil that feeds the plants.

Yea I’d say the lights too close and the temps way too low.
The second light might not be enough to get you to 75 degrees F and when the lights go out they provide no heat so temps fall even further.
Hook up a heater to maintain temps or she won’t flourish.

What is the Relative Humidity in the tent. Should be in the 60% range. Get a RH/Temp gauge if you don’t have one. Lowe’s Home Depot etc etc etc $12 to $30

Hope this helps

They just didn’t seem as happy. New growth was a lot lighter green, and the leaves were dry to the touch. It took me a minute to get my temps and humidity dialed in tho, so that might have played a role.

Once they got a few weeks into veg I moved it down to 24" and then dropped it an inch or so a week til i got to 18"

Raise your light. You’re also going to want to get your temps up and make sure rh is in range. She needs to process water, and with your light that close plant is probably looking for a lot of water.
