Love the fall colors. Outdoor seattle buds. These are all F1 crosses between jilly bean x dj short blueberry. My first time running them. Excellent mold resistance, which is what I was going for on this cross. The purps is just a bonus.
Sorry for the extraneous photo shots. Not about learning. Just showing the beauty.
This years purps are not so satisfying. These are the seeds made from last years where I selected for purple traits. This one is probably the best looking one so far. You know it when the buds start purple, and not just go purple at the cold nights,
Keeping it purple.
2007 jillybean x DJ short blueberry f4.
Then f1 open pollinated for purple stems . Popped 100 and pheno hunted the f2s. The only twist is I kept the original 2 f1 males 2 years and hit the great great great grand ladies with the original f1 pollen. These are them. For those who don’t have time to follow all our threads lol.
This one by far is the most like what I was going for. Candied blueberries and sweet dank. If you blended them up in a smoothie. Holding up to the wet and dew like a champ.
Then these are the f4s for lack of better description. F3 moms this year in the bed, open pollinated by the same f1 keeper males. Reveged and seeds harvested. Seeds sprouted at solstice, and grown beside their mothers. So f4s right infront of their mom.
Then are you still with me. I pollinated the seedlings this solstice or a tad later. With the same f1 keeper males. So f5s I think. Those are this years “only got 16 seeds” missed the pollen before reveg seedlings. Babies having babies basicly. Just sprouted them. About 3 weeks old. Should be pretty color wheel. That’s this tray. I am having fun either way.
