Okay guys so I’m pulling the trigger on buying a grow tent and everything that goes with it. I’m ordering a 5x5x7 grow tent. I live in Northern Ontario and in the winter it’s -30*C all the time so pulling air from outside won’t work. I have animals and do smoke indoors so I want to filter/purify the air going into my tent from inside my house and exhaust it outside my house through a charcoal filter. I selected a 4" 203 CFM exhaust fan with charcoal filter. Do you think this will be strong enough to grow 4 plants with the two filters. After searching the internet I find alot of different formulas giving very different answers. Also what kind of setup would you recommend to filter the indoor air before it enters the tent.
Thanks
@Countryboyjvd1971 could help you figure out what size fan and filter would work best for your size tent, but I have a feeling you’re gonna want a larger size than the 4” in a 5x5 tent.
Keep in mind the warmer temperatures in summer. I would get a 6" 400 CFM fan for a tent that size. You can then use a speed controller to manage the temperature inside the tent.
Since you are exhausting outside the house, I don’t really see the need to use a charcoal filter… unless you are worried about the neighbors smelling it.
@TommyBahama that’s exactly it. What I didn’t know when I bought this house was that all my neighbours are seniors citizens. My kids are literally the only ones on the street. But it has its perks…it’s quiet, they are all very nice people, and since they are retired they are also bored and I haven’t had to shovel my driveway since I moved in almost 3 years ago because one of them always comes and snowblows it for me while I’m at work.
The 4” fans are good for up to a 3x3 tent. Anything larger than that will require 6” and up accordingly.
@TommyBahama has got it covered in his post.
Welcome to the forum @DATAPAK420 I can’t wait to see your first grow. Well wishes for you and your upcoming grow.
Thanks @Budbrother
