I don’t have PTSD but ran across this video and wanted to share with others that may.

I don’t have the patience to watch that video but I do suffer from PTSD, Insomnia and pain beyond imagining. All compliments of the US Army where I got severally injured.
Marijuana has been a god send for sure. When my best friend got me to try some 3 different times I didn’t get a buzz.
So we decided to take a 2nd trip over seas and the last stop was Amsterdam. We walked 5 blocks to the closest Coffee Shop. I got a strain called Power Plant and this was back in Dec 2003. Oh it took me for a ride and knocked me the hell out for 3 hours.
Now we did try Shrooms at the time and went to the Van Gogh Art Museum tripping balls. An interesting experience for me. My PTSD was still unchecked at the time. Shrooms wasn’t the best idea but the way everything looked so bright and the detail was amazing.
I have had several bad flair ups with PTSD. Especially when my pain is pretty bad. It’s now under control via what I call my Happy Pill and good ole Mary Jane helps me a ton.
My Psychiatrist definitely wants me to smoke marijuana.
I have CPTSD. CBD helps me so much.
Amsterdam was my first real experience smoking and tripping. A group of fellow soldiers and I went there upon getting back from a deployment to Bosnia. White Widow was big in 1998 along with Jack Herer. The mushroom shop is what really rocked my world. Global Dreams if I remember correctly. What a ride. We never made it to the Van Gogh museum. We were all way to messed up.
You might want to read the book: “How to Change Your Mind” by Michael Pollan. Very interesting research on PTSD and psychedelics.
I want to thank you from my bottom of my heart. I am now in tears of joy right now. Because I now know and understand what has been going with me. God has been my saving grace. He also lead me here. God does answer prayers.

PTSD sucks. Our son suffers from it. Thanks to 3 helicopter crashes, shot two dif occasions, IED. USMC and A-stan did him in. I got diagnosed with severe C-PTSD last year (horrific background that involved a murder of my child when I was 15 yrs old, my horse flipping and breaking it’s neck in front of me, and rape; all in a six month period. Plus, significant child abuse. Dark dark stuff and I RARELY EVER tell anyone about it as it brings them down, too ) it took intensive EMDR therapy, quitting a soul sucking job, meds, cannabis, total lifestyle change. That or die. My mind literally broke last year. To the point of being catatonic I was so brought down by it. I can honestly say that I am so much better now than I was and a totally different person. The episodes are fewer and far between and now that the depression has been somewhat resolved when it does show up I cannot stand it and can’t believe I lived that way for years and did not recognize it for what it was. I thought just warriors had that. I downplayed my own experiences that caused it.
I am way interested in shrooms. Our son is now growing some. I supply him with cannabis for seizures (thanks to IED) and he is now growing shrooms for us to try and microdose, etc.
@blackthumbbetty I never even considered CBD but now looking at the 1:1 strains like AC/DC to grow.
I had to get desperate enough to get help, to even be able to see what was going on. Then it was life or death on getting well. I still run waaay too many miles for an old lady and hit the gym way too much for way to long but I am a kinetic person and it keeps me sane and gets rid of a lot of negative energy. Plus, the side effects of being fit are great. Nothing like a wake and bake and good 10 miler to even me out. At some point though I need to get past working myself to exhaustion. I really can’t wait to try the shrooms.
@smokeofmanycolors welcome here! I hope you find some great ideas and comfort.
@Skydiver thank you for the link. Will head off to watch it.
This reminds me of a 55 year old veteran who overcame PTSD using marijuana within 2 weeks. Here’s the complete story Case Study of 55-Year-Old Veteran Diagnosed with PTSD – MDBerry
