Having problem getting my ph down I did a water change Sunday and ph was 5.85 but after I added to rdwc system and running chiller ph jumps to 6.57 had to add a lot of ph down then decided to redo water change and verify amounts of nutrients put in. 16 gallons of ro water added 12 tsp maxigrow, 50ml calmag, floralicious plus 8ml, superthrive 8ml, hydroguard 16ml. After adding that stiring and have 4 air stones with a 571gph air pump in the nutrients ph was 3.89 added ph up to bring to 5.8 drained and refilled systemph back up to 6.57 I have added at least 12ml of ph down and only down to 6.2 is it ok to keep adding ph down till I get to where I need to be? Here is a list of my equipment
4x4x6.5 tent
It does not usually take a large amount of pH Down. Might be a good time to get out the 7 pH solution and just verify meter that it reads exactly 7ph. good luck
Sorry forgot to mention I recalibrated it before checking the second water change it was only off .3. They had me use I believe 4.13 and 6.86 ph buffer to calibrate
PH down is phosphoric acid which is a plant soluble form of phosphorous. Some nutrient lines need a bunch, some need none. You should be fine. I know folks who buy it by the gallon.
You also mention that you have to add ph up before adding to your system, try not putting the ph up and just add to your system, then test it to see where its at or if it jumps. Then u can adjust from there. Using ph up then ph dwn will just cause u to chase your ph around.
