I’m looking for advice on what to use for an enclosure. I am in Michigan USA where growing is legal, up to 12 plants. The problem I have is legally im supposed to have them caged up and out of sight from public viewing without aid of binos or something like that. Also supposed to be able to be locked. My question is what should I use for the sides? I was thinking a shade cloth but what percentage should I use? Too much concealment and I’m cutting the light. Not enough concealment and you can see the plants no problem. I’m out in the country but unfortunately have some neighbors very close that don’t like us that much and would probably be excited to call something in they didn’t think was right.
I’d find out if a padlocked hoop-house is sufficient?
Otherwise, you’ll need to install your fence with ample setback.
I would get a chain link dog kennel and pad lock it.
Oh and while we’re at it… how larger of an area does everything think would be suffient for 12 plants? I know that’s kind of a hard one to answer because of plant sizes varying wildly between strains. But if it was you how large would you go? I have space. Just don’t want to spend an arm and a leg.
That’s mostly a question of a head start you can give them indoors ahead of the season, as well as any season extension improvements you can make.
If you do this properly you get to enjoy basically free sun grown cannabis for decades; if you try to save some money by doing it halfway, maybe you cause yourself a legal headache.
I’m going out on a stoner limb with this one.
If photoperiod friendly, can you dig a 2 or 3 feet deep pit, and place the plants in there? I know it sounds crazy, but your local haters will never see it coming…
SL out.
I used a 5x10 dog run chain link then used pvc to make a pitched roof. I covered it with 6mil. plastic from home depot paint dept. This year I’m going 10x12
I like this idea and maybe use so shade cloth on the sides facing street.
This is what I dug down about 2 feet leveled it out put pea gravel down and now I’ll have 6 35 gallon fabric pots that I can let grow 8 foot and not be over fence. This year I am going to install sun shade along fence to stop people from looking between the boards…
I have seen a few kennels. If you need more then 6 high just add chicken coop wire up top. Make sure to have a gate and a lock.
@HarryHarold Omg I am sorry I didn’t include a footnote that I got the idea from you. For the few moments I am sober,I apologize
SL out.
It’s all good. any and all ideas should be shared… I got the original idea from a member on here as well. Just did my own twist on it. That’s why I really enjoy this grp.
I would just for privacy. Maybe put some chicken coop up top and twist wire it down. Sunlight will still get in. I’m in Michigan and that’s how I would do it with a med card. (Probably without one two)
When I made the roof I used pvc fittings it was pitched at a 45 degree angle then 45 to make a flat roof. You can make the flat part as small as you want and as high as you want. I used 45s and a bunch of Tee’s to brace it all.
I’m a plumber so putting it all together was easy.
Today I bought my new greenhouse 10x12 I unboxed it and started putting it together but it got dark. I’ll be back at it tomorrow. It has so freaking many parts with vague instructions. It’s gonna take a few weekends to get it done
Looks good!
I would go 12 by 24. I do not have the luxury of going outside on private land. I gorilla grow outside. My measurements are probably off.
@Cannabian
We will be growing 10 this year in a 32ft x 16ft area. 6ft tall sidewalls with privacy screening. I’m hoping it will be enough room
Man that looks hot and dry!
