Hi from one noob to another. Check out my budget tent.

2 panel of thinnest foam insulation duct tape into box
sorry cut in 1/2 long way than tape into box. Hubby had scraps lieing around so add strips of that to bottom for sturdier base and 2x2 piece for roof.
Stand your box up in your grow space to see if 8ft actually fits.
Mine scraped ceiling setting up so I trimmed about 4in off top

Since I have scraps making my base steady I used the cut from top to reinforce roof.
Dril holes for PVC pipe and fans.
My roof floats on PVC if you don’t want to be able to collapse this mostly flat tape roof on.
$40 including pipe cutters for tent!
I’m only spending real money on seeds and carbon filters. Once I make proof of concept and “save” the $500 I spent I will buy a real tent and DIY lights so I can grow more plants.
Northern lights auto Oct 1 in my hand
Cheese auto Oct 7 right.

@borialis nothing wrong with saving $$…I’m just growing in closet. Only real expense was the HLG 288 XL 320w V2 Rspec QB. Don’t even know what strain or if it’s AF or PHOTO. If I get this 1 plant to harvest then I’ll be ready to go full in.

You got it :+1:t5::+1:t5: By bubble i mean mix up. But ur one it either way

Is it normal for roots to grow just below the surface? I was going to loosen up the soil a little bit. But just below the surface not even a 1/4” down I started pulling up all these little hairy thangs. I was like WTF this soil is sure dirty. I pulled 1 stran and it pulled on the stem. So covered it up good as I could and put her down for 6 hour nap. Hope I didn’t screw up

Ok brother I thought you might have been talking hydroponic

Yup. They grow downwards but eventually some work back up.

@PurpNGold74
Soil finally dry enough to feed. I guess I should do calmag 1st.

Your call. How long since last feed?

Since it’s 1st dose of calmag planning on half dose. 1/8 teaspoon to 1/4 gal of water then ph it to 6.5. Was going to go lower since my last run off came out 7.6. But I forgot if calmag raises or lowers ph level

7 days. Planning on calmag today then Wednesday Thrive N and Friday the molasses. That’s way I’m only giving 1/4 gal at a time. A full gallon takes too long. Calmag seems to be what she wants right now.

I see roots everywhere. I wouldn’t worry about them.

Yup sounds like a party. And the less water more often maybe what they like. Always good to test doff feed schedules and find what works best

Thanks. I just knew I pumped the puppy when I uncovered all those roots. But as of 9:15pm California time she was doing good-ish

thanks. When I get home in 4hrs it will be time for her 6hr nap

Should I get rid of all this undergrowth?

Like her perfume…kind of a piney scent with a faint hint of lemon

Trim them satellite branches off down low that will never make it to the top, then the ones on the tip get more of the plants energy.

@zparkie2
Thank you. That’s what I did

I think my problem is a combo of too much light and nute lock out due to ph being off. Raised light up to 17.75”. Last time I checked run off (18 days ago) the ph was 6.8 in & 7.5 out. ppm was 894 in and 576 out. So it’s using some nutes but not enough. I been ph’ng my water to 6.3 - 6.8. On 10/21 I gave her only water ph’d to 6.1. In 2 day I will water again to get enough run off to check that ph again.
Comparing pix of deficiency is confusing. The pix that come close to my leafs indicate boron, potassium toxicity and too much light. Recommend remedies: raise lights and make sure ph is with in 5.8 - 6.8.
This sound right to y’all??
