Preparing for Ohio Legalization, narrowed down to Cmh, or Qb roughly 3x3 to 4x4 grow space

Not sure about federally just yet but have been following closely! I have the re submission downloaded to my phone. Its all available online. It was kind of a pun on how long Ohio is taking. But allot of chatter about feds just getting it done across the board.

Do you mean the QB65 or the QB600? 600’s are sold out and the 65’s are too small.

If you were to DIY I would suggest an aluminum plate and get 5 288s, but I also like the idea of 2 separate units for plants with different heights the way you are going.

Also you want the QB288V2 (3000K’s)

Here’s mine 4x QB304

Sorry that was kinda for dbrn32 but sounds like he has educated you… Hmmmm man. I like to tinker so a kit would be fine… Here I thought I was done. I have sometime so… Ya know

Why solid aluminum? Heat transfer?

I use it as the heatsink instead of the slate 2 that comes with the 260 xl

Gotcha… What size space?

4x4 so I used a 2x3 plate.

For a 5x5 I would go with a 3.5 x 4 and set the boards in an X pattern so you could grow 5 plants and be able to center under each board. But that’s a big light. Again I also, like the idea of having different heights and 2 separate lights.

You could also go with L Bracket framing and the HLG heat sinks to make it more manageable:

You mean the hlg-65 as complete light, or doing something with one of the 60 watt boards like a qb 120 or 132?

Not really a great application for them in 4x4, and building out for a 5x5 would get really busy.

All of the meanwell hlg series drivers are dimmable. If you get one ending in letter “A” it has built in dimmer. Ending in letter “B” has external dimming leads and requires you to hook up a separate dimming source.

if u get the chance, try a 3x3 or 3.25x3.25 heat sink and arrange the boards at 90 degrees to each other instead of the 2 rows u have now.
according to my drawings this would fill a 4x4 with pretty consistent wall to wall light.!

I think o was looking at a 320w 60W XW QB V2 LED supposed to light up a 5x5 veg or 2.5 x 4 flower… Sorry man… I still think I will go with your initial suggestion… 260 xl… I could go roughly $400.00 on my purchase… And a kit would be ok so… Thanks again, sorry for being a pain…

2 of these would be bare minimum in a 5x5…

Too much $$$

personally i’d go with 2 of these…

with 2 of these…

this would get me the best wall to wall coverage in a 5x5.!

Ok it was the Qb xw 320… But still leaning toward 260 xl and add a second board later.

I’m familiar with the 320 xw kit, but not 320w 60w xw qb v2. I’m confused as to where the 60w keeps coming in?

The 320 kit isn’t big enough for 5x5, that light is for 1m x 1m space.

5x5 should have 3 of them.

60w was a miss spell… Tried to copy and paste.

3x 320w XL would fill a 5x5,
get one at a time.!!
