my first time preparing soil. i have the happy frog soil and nutrients and fabric bags. do i need drainage rocks mixed in with soil or anything else to start seedling?

Multiple answers available.

  1. FFOF or FFHF?
  2. Seed germination reccommend starter dixie cups (big bags with nothing are ugly).
  3. Drainage is a function of material mixed, container poroscity, and Monsoon likelyhood.
  4. Not really on drainage rocks.
  5. Something for airation of planter bottom.

thank you…the iration for the bottom of my grow bags is stumping me. what do you use?

Perlite or vermiculite mixed into the soil will help with drainage. If you’re planning on starting the seed in the same fabric pot you’re going to finish in you need good drainage.

what are the best drainage stones for soil growing?

I’m not aware of any growers that use them. A good cannabis soil with 20% perlite (by volume) is what I do. If you want to use them, then Hydroton clay pebbles are probably a good choice.

Throw a little extra perlite in if you like and go with the Fox farm product you’ll be fine.
