You may want to get a different tent. Being only 4 foot tall you are going to have some issues like having a light in your tent.
I’ve never had a plant less than 30” tall and also had plants well over 60” tall.

You can easily do autos in your tent! My last one was just under 30". “Most” autos are considerably smaller and finish much quicker.
So much fantastic information, I’m going to have to comb through it and reread multiple times, then research. What a great place and helpful people… so glad to have found this space to share and learn from
@LandShark I have a lot of Auto seeds and I still haven’t grown any. They just don’t compete with how I can grow massive plants indoors that are photo period seeds.
@ArtsNHearts if you want to learn to grow weed, then you are in the right place. If you want to get someone’s attention put @ in front of their handle like I did you above. We all want you to succeed in your grow and have a good time while doing so. You will find there are some techniques that suit you and some that do not, we are all different in methods, you just take what works for you within your variables and let’er rip. Welcome to the forum fellow weedie
Going to need snips, a hygrometer, jars and I would recommend some twine or some garden tie down things for low stress training, inline exhaust fan, ph up and down. You don’t need it but I would recommend getting perlite to add to the soil and I think that’s all i can think of on the top of my head. Cheers and welcome to the forum!
I’ll take those 4-5 lights you wish you hadn’t bought off your hands. I’m sure there better than my two cfl bulbs lol how much you want. Lol
A big journal for all your plans, actions, and observations is a good early investment.
A calendar for each grow space tracks what you did (watering, fertilizing, etc.) is something you want.
A whiteboard for each grow space to note goals, procedures, and critical info is extremely helpful.
The reason I’m reluctant to try small fabric pots is I don’t see the advantage compared to the Super Roots Air Pots, and the fabric pots available locally are heavy felt; my concern is the pot itself will harbor microbes, bacteria, and pests between grows. I sterilize my flats, trays, and pots with bleach between crops. For large 100 gallon permaculture beds, fabric pots seem like a great option.
So I put 2 blue dream and 2 purple haze in a few days ago, good to see growth but I’m super cautiously optimistic, the only other time I had anything growing it died after 3 weeks( I think I over watered ) I bought fox farm soil for my transplanting when they are ready and need to get a proper vegetation supplement, I have a humbolt flowering supplement that was recommended so I’m on my way. Oh and a friend had an extra small lighting set up she said for this small a grow would be perfect. If I get 2 of these to produce even 3 oz between them I’ll be super happy for my first time

I’m looking at the mars hydro ts1000 as my first light until I can borrow my friends … any thoughts
Also it seems as my girls have all sprouted and already look like they are reaching to be tall, last time when I had that happen I felt like they weren’t very well established in the base they were in and looked like they would tip over, should I be concerned?
You can mound some of your media up around the stems if they appear to be falling over. It does mean they are looking for more light than they are getting.
I don’t have any experience with the light you mentioned. I own lights I built using the latest LED tech at the time. I think I would shy away from it until more users chime in on it. HLG is the top lighting in LED’s and you can find some good deals out there if you look around. That would be your last light purchase.
The TS1000 is a fine product. You should also consider the HLG 135 kit which is basically the same price (~$130) and is more efficient. I stand by my advice earlier in this thread; I would grow one mature plant under a TS1000.
I’m getting a better light setup in the near future but thought it might be smart to grab a light and have something reasonable during my veg stage… then upgrading when I’m done with this round and I see how my friends set up works…
Update “Cat”tastrophe!!!
Last night at 4 am our new kitten ruined 2 of my seedlings… so now I’m down to 2 and I have decided to throw 2 new seeds into germination… so I have 1 blue and one purple that managed to survive and I’m germinating 2 berg gold seeds. A bit heart broken but at least it happened reasonably early on.
@KeystoneCops pulled the trigger on your light recommendation, thanks a bunch
@GreenJewels thank I almost forgot
Thanks for the tag
Recovery!!! So my 2 cat scratched girls managed to come back!!! Now waiting on my lil germinating babies
Quick question on soil… I’m growing with fox farms ocean blend , so I need to add perlite?? And also I only have 3 gallon buckets ( I also have limited grow space since I didn’t realize how big these were gonna get ) is that going to be a problem? Or will it just yield less? I mean as much as I want quantity I’d love to grow a good amount of quality to boot. Just thinking
