Question for the experts. I’m using jacks 321 with filtered water. I’m only getting around 400 PPM. I’ve heard that my PPM needs to be 1000 at this stage. ( vegetation stage). Question is how do I raise it?

You are mixing per the schedule? 3.72g of A, 2.52g of B and .99g of Epsom salt per gallon?
Yes I am should my ppm be higher?
I just made up a batch following the old 321 recipe with the 3.6 part a 1.2 epsom salt and 2.4 part b and 6 ml silica. On a 5 gal batch with RO water i was sitting at this without any added ph up or down

I’m going to double check my amounts and make sure my meter is calibrated.
I was getting low readings too with the proper mixing. I broke down and bought a Blue Lab truncheon. Much better readings now.
I seriously thought about it before but had no clue how to use it so i went with this bluelab guardian instead and got it on sale. How do ya like it?
I really like it. It’s super simple, no calibration and you just dunk it and it tells you EC, 500 and 600 scale all at once. No pH though. I’ve given up on pH meters.
I use jacks and filtered water. Adding silica first, then jacks at full strength, i get right around 1000ppm, give or take. pH lands right at 5.8 for my coco. If I use tap, with no silica, I hit right around 1000ppm, and 6.5pH.
This is about what i get too.
Make sure your scale is calibrated correctly while you’re at it. 10 nickels is 50 grams if you don’t have any calibration weights.
This reminds me of using a nickel in the 90s to double check those awful hand scales.
Still use old nickles for calibration, 90s, lol, been using change for calibrations back in the 70s.
Still use 2 rolls quarters equals 1lb. Another good calibration.
