Whats up good people. I have a question about something and havent found any info on the subject in this forum and I’m wondering if I’m the only one who is doing this.
When y’all harvest your plants (and this is mostly for outdoor fems) and cut it from the trunk do yall go back and pull your stump and look at your root growth? I typically have a dozen plants per season and it amazes me how different the root structure differs from plant to plant. Ive grown in buckets on top of the soil, I’ve grown in buckets and dug holes to put the buckets below the soil to keep them at a cooler temp, but recently I’ve abandoned the buckets altogether and have found the results to be superior to any containment with one minor hickup. For the most part I’ve found cannabis isnt a plant that likes to be contained. Some plants will thrive once they’re root bound. I germinate in biodegradable cups with the bottoms cut out and tape them back together. Once o move to a bigger pot I remove the tape and pull away the bottom and sit it in its new and bigger container that is cut and taped the same way. Once it hat matured enough I go straight into the ground. I can tell you this though. Root systems are strange. No two are the same and I’ve een . making notes on the post harvest results in order to find some consistently. Anyone else nerd out like me and study them rootsies?
I recycle my soil and always inspect my root growth. Ive noticed that the ones that veg longer and I LST always have a larger and stronger root system than the ones that dont veg as long. Thats why i always veg my girls longer than most. Your foundation is what sets the playing field for the rest of your grow.
That’s good info
Agreed. This year my veg phase was exceedingly good to the point that when they went into the stretch they grew into a light source that I didnt notice while they were mere pups. This sparked a re-veg. I killed the light source but because they were already so tall it took them awhile to come back into flower again, but they did double the bud sites while going back into flower. Now I have 3 plants that are 8ft 9ft and 12ft tall. Its insane. They are 3 weeks into flower now and the buds are already nice and healthy.
Whoops
Nice work
