I had a calcium deficiency about 1 1/2 weeks ago with this plant and the bigger leaves turned yellowish then like a rust color. Now on the same plant I’m seeing new rust spots lower down and also alittle yellow spots on another plant starting. My ppm tonight was 337 my ph 5.9 water temp 68.1F any suggestions?
What are you feeding?
Just started bergmans growtime week 1 on Monday , calmag and hydroguard
Sounds a little late with feedings. Your ph and water temps look good. I would just monitor your new growth, if it doesn’t start looking better bump your ppm a little bit.
I know this might sound like a dump question, but I am new to growing in DWC,
I know what PPM is, and I assume when you add nutes PPM goes up,
how do you?
Thanks for the insight… I am just not clear on how to tweak the PPM
That’s my problem I’m on my third week of nutrients this past weeks water/nutrient change I added full dose of week 1 growtime bergmans, full 5ml per gallon of calmag. Using ro water and my ppm are still only 340ppm. Should I go more calmag since I’m starting to see signs on another plant slightly too?
You would be best getting detailed advice from a hydro grower. I just know if you’re ph is correct and you see deficiency the nutrients likely arent in the solution.
I have an ebb and flow system and I just entered the seedlings into the system a few days ago. I use General Hydroponics nutes and at this first week my ppm’s are at 370. After one week of this I’ll be changing nutes and the ppm’s will be about 1000. The following week the ppm’s will be about the same up to 1150. I’ll keep the nutes at this stage until the end of veg. which will be at least a month or so. Make sure your ph meter is accurate by checking it with 7.0 fluid and keep it at 5.8.
Here’s a picture taken last night and you can see how small they are and my ppm’s are at 370.
Ok then should I go over what the calmag directions are to bring my ppm up?
