Planting my seedlings

@LongtimeListener_FirsttimeCaller metoometoo.
Has worked great in my small one-plant MacGyver tent, I believe 2 plants would be the limit though.

Ok just making sure I’m going to do this right.
I put my seeds in lukewarm water and put them somewhere warm and dark correct?
Do I just ignore them for the first 24 then start checking them? How long of a tail should they have before putting them in the soil?
Headed to bed but will be checking back here this afternoon. Thank you in advance.

I don’t even soak them anymore. I plant them in their forever homes (5 gallon fabric pots for me) and just let them go. Works out pretty well, so long as your genetics are good:

Pretty much.

Around 1/4-1/2 inch or so, but they do not float in water that long. When they get soaked and sink to the bottom, I transfer to a wet paper towel.

That can work just as well for some growers. That is how it works in the wild after all. :+1:
I just like feeling “in control”.

Nice, they are using almost all the available light. Nice full tent!

I get that. Different strokes for different folks, right? :blush:

@JimC2 Congrats on the new hobby. This is an excellent forum to help you be the most productive grower you can be. You’ll probably find (like most of us) that it becomes quite the addiction. Good luck with your grow and if you need anything or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out on here!

Thanks!

@Borderryan22
Can I take them out of the water directly into the soil? I tried paper towels before with no luck.
Lol I’m hesitant because I don’t want to screw this up lol.

I appreciate all the help. Glad to know there are people who are willing to help newbies like me.

That is fine to do.

Do I put them directly under light or wait for them to sprout first? If I ever ask too many questions please let me know

You bet!

I just turn on the light with the schedule set as soon as they hit the dirt. So when they come up theyre already goin.

Guess i should quit procrastinating and pull the trigger lol

Believe me, you will get tired of all the waiting to come. Patience is one of the hardest things to master when growing.

Ok guys i wasnt sure if I needed to start a new thread or not but around father’s day I had some regular ole home grown weed. I started a seed in miracle grow potting soil just to see what happened. I used a light from home depot and i think I stunted it early on. It was before I decided to get serious. I don’t think it amounted to much other than a pretty decoration.

It actually looks really good. Now with your new light you’ll probably see daily growth changes.

I’m going to focus on the new grow. But have to start the new grow first lol

@Borderryan22
Have a question about the soil. I’m using happy frog, should it be compressed in the buckets or loose? Oh and at what power should I set my lights for the beginning stages?
