1200w LED Light Panel with autoflower seed. Do I use the veg or bloom switch?

I’m growing 6 autoflowering seed plants with an LED 1200w light panel with veg and/or bloom switches. I have them on an 18/6 light cycle currently set on the veg switch. They are about 7 weeks old and about 14-16in tall. They look very healthy. Do I need to switch to the bloom setting or should I run both veg and bloom at the same time seeing as they are autoflower seeds? Thanks, first time grower.

Also, is the 1200 W light panel enough to grow six plants all the way through to harvest?

I would recommend better lighting by horticulture lighting group.
Until then run both switches.

Ok. I’ll check them out. Thank you :+1:

@Covertgrower is absolutely right about lights. I’m assuming this is a Chinese made light from Amazon. My first grow was 4 autos. They did great with similar type lighting. When they were done I had what I thought was 4 or 5 ounces per plant. Problem was they were light and fluffy. I had maybe 3 or 4 ounces total. So if you want dense tight buds you’ll need to start considering upping your lights. Good luck and Welcome to ILGM FORUM.

Ok. Yes it is bulldognuts.Lol. It’s a Yintatech. I’m on a tight budget so buying an expensive light is tough right now. Thought about buying another Yintatech 1200w to double the light at a low cost. Each plant is in a 3 gallon pot. The one light fits the footprint but I’m thinking of adding a second one just in case. The light is sitting about 24 inches above the plants. Am I wasting my money or will this help?

It’ll grow, but just consider upgrading when you can. Just don’t expect a pound of weed with it, and as long as you accept what you get from it, you’ll be okay.

The plane just flew over my head. Lol. All I know is it’s a 1200w Yintatech LED light panel sitting about 2 ft above 6 plants. Each plant is in a 3 gallon pot with miracle grow organic soil. The plants are about 6-7 weeks old and look really healthy. They range from 10-14in tall. They are ILGM northern lights, blueberry and amnesia haze. They’re on a 18/6 light cycle(I’m considering going to 24hr because they are auto flower). What are your thoughts on that? I did switch the panel to both veg and flower today. I’m using tap water, and they are in my bathroom. This is my first grow so I’m just flying by the seat of my pants.
I plan to get more technical in the near future.

Thank you covertgrower. I’m not looking for a big yield for my first grow This is more of a trial by error and gathering as much information to improve every time. Will adding a second light (the one that I already have) improve the next yield ?

Plants need a rest time to grow. Only benefit of 24/7 is to the people at the electric company. I only do 24/7 first couple weeks and then reduce to 18/6

Thank you VTGROW. I’ll leave then on the 18/6 then with the veg and bloom switch on. Do you think adding another light panel will help the yield?

I’m going tag someone who can answer whether or not buying another would be worth it @dbrn32

Don’t rush into buying another one. Someone may have an opinion that can help decide.

@Sfblczy I am running a Bestva 2000 watt led as well as a Sunraise 1000watt led for my veg tent. Full spectrum and I also have 6 plants in there. The plants seem to love it in veg and it is very easy to keep temp in check. Once I am ready to flower I will be switching to a 1000 watt hps light. I would love to get the HLG 550 led light and plan on doing so once this crop pays for it. From the research and advice on here I would recommend the HLG 550 for flowering a 4x4+ space.

Also your plants look great man. Mine are about the same size. Going to start up on some LST next week to help increase the yield and get better light on entire plant.

@Haildamaged At what age do you take the clones from mamma?

Welcome to the forum.

To answer your question yes a second light will improve yield. If you ask me should you get second cheap light I would say no put the money in a piggy bank save some more and get a higher end led light.

I don’t believe I’ve seen that light before. Seller lists it as a 275 watt light. If that’s true, based on similarly designed lights I would say your light is good to flower up to about 6 ft². Or something like a 2x3’ space. You can run it in larger space, but will likely give up bud density.
