Pigmentation change, spots, yellowing tips?

Also just curious what kind of light are you using?

@Joe318 @1HappyPappy

Thanks for responding so fast.
Yep in the third month! I planted my seeds early November. And yes! I do use fox farm soil- ocean forest. And you mention the height. How do I prevent that?! I know there was some stretching probably due to excess heat when they were seedlings? Maybe? Idk- just something I read. And I didn’t introduce any other nutrients. I do have fox farm Big Bloom concentrate- should I introduce this to the mix now that there are pistils and seems to be in the beginning stages of flowering?

The light-ugggh I’m embarrassed to even be posting this- my goal is to get a tent set up going with a hanging light and proper humidity, air flow temp control etc. soon, but for now there’s two different types…

Yeah man you really need more light badly…
Normally in foxfarm soil all its nutrients would be gone by week 5-6 at most. 3 months is roughly 12 weeks how ever the lighting is so under powered that is the cause of the stretching, the reason there is not much bud structure, and the reason they made it this far in the soil with out really adding anything much but water.
They don’t have enough light (aka energy) to eat and grow the way they are capable…
They other wise look healthy really, but unfortunately my freind you will need more light to produce much bud…

It’s a mess but check out my first grow with auto flowers and go threw it and see just how much I feed them and the light it took.

It doesn’t require as much light as mine but the feeding schedule is about the same for any grower with adequate lighting…

Don’t be discouraged though freind, we all learn as we go and when you get you more lighting you’ll be better prepared with good info if ya just hang out around here following others grows and ask any questions that come up and don’t ever be embarrassed :grin:

Foxfarm ocean forest has enough nutrients to feed your plants for three to four weeks after that I would recommend feeding about every 2 weeks so the nitrogen N is mainly for vegetative growth (leafs and stems) phosphorus (P) is for flowering and buding and potassium (K) is for budding if I’m correct. So you should have 3 different stages of fertilizer unless your like some of the experienced folks on here who use Jacks 321. And yes there is this thing called LST or low stress training that will help prevent your stocks from getting so tall and will also give you more bud sites look it up on YouTube it’s VERY helpful when growing autos. But I think your a bit late in the grow this time you have to start usually around the 3rd to fourth week after they sprout. I use LST clips but a lot of folks on here use ties and wires and such.

@1HappyPappy @Joe318

Thanks guys! I will definitely be investing in a new light and grow tent. I will also introduce some more nutrients and see if that helps with the budding process. Thanks for all your advice :grin:

I just planted another seed- hopefully this one goes well (pretty sure I drowned 3 of the first 5 seeds :woman_facepalming:t3::woman_facepalming:t3:- these are the two that survived) I will look into LST

And yes Definitely upgrade your lighting to grow good bud lighting is a must I can’t stress that enough! Good lights are expensive though. I made the same mistake and had a weak light in the beginning I switched real quick when everyone let me know.

How’s this look?

That light would be for one plant to grow and flower under. It says 2000w or some crap but I think it’s actually a 100w light. This is what I have

This would be good for 2 plants

Just purchased :grin:

Good! Idk if it will make much difference with these plants but definitely will with future ones. Did you get a chance to research lst? And when you get your light in make sure your ppfd and height is right for the phase of the plant your in. Seedlings don’t need as much light as veg state and so on maybe start a new thread when you get your light so people with more experience can guide you on the right path with you light so you don’t have issues. One thing you are going to need is this app and purchase the led or sunlight it doesn’t matter they are 4.99 you will need it when adjusting your lights strength.

Them photons apps are only accurate on iPhone, and other operating systems are not even close really.
Migro on YouTube did an episode comparing them all across multiple platforms and only iPhone was accurate compared to quantum sensors…

I definitely wouldn’t spend any money on in app purchases unless you got an iPhone or pad…

@Lorenda_x that Mars lights will be a huge upgrade for you… they do well for the price point, Mars hydro and Spiderfarmer make some good budget lights. There new bar style lights are really nice for the money…
which one did you get?

Yeah I got a iPhone idk about other phones and you have to use a defuser.

@1HappyPappy @Joe318

I actually do have an iPhone! So should I purchase? I got this one … I really hope the girls like it- just checked my little seedling and she is beginning to sprout :relaxed:

The app has worked very well for me. I don’t see why it wouldn’t work for you. You can go ahead and get the app is free but for it to read LED light that’s the in app purchase you have to get 4.99$. When your plants are in seedling stage with this light you will want I believe 18 to 24 inches away from the the top of the leafs and start out at about 200 ppfd. On the app it will talk about how you need a diffuser it is simply a piece of printer paper raped around the top of your phone so it can disperse and read the light. Use that. And you should gradually turn your light up over several weeks to be at around 400 ppfd in vegetative state and when flowering starts 600 to 700 ppfd and flowering your light should be around 16 to 18 inches from the top of your canopy. Anyone feel free to correct me here I’m no expert this is my first grow too. This is just what I’ve been told and what I’ve done with my ladies.

Nice I don’t even have one of them what size? I have a cheap tent .

@Joe318 i found out they’re much cheaper to go directly to their site and order rather than Amazon
27” x 27” x 63”

Nice that should work well for a couple of plants as long as you lst because the light is going to take up about two feet of the height of the tent automatically.
