Depends on if you plan to grow outdoors or stay indoors, and what latitude you live on.
I start mine indoors at 18/6 and veg them until a month before Im readybto plant out in mid May. During that month I ween my plants back to 16/8 to more closely match the dark hours of my latitude in May. That keeps my girls from flipping when they go outdoors.
If you stay indoors its simple… 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower. Have fun and photos rule!

Im a indoor grower

There’s multiple schedules you can run for veg. As long as they don’t receive 11-12 hrs or more of uninterrupted darkness they’ll stay in veg. I run 6on/2off schedule for veg and 12/12 for flower

You said 6 On and 2 off for veg?

Yeah, the plants get 2hr naps every 6 hours.

I use 6/2 during veg as well. Great results!

If you have weak lights you need longer duration to meet DLI (Daily Light Interval). If you have high-end lights then you can reduce that light schedule accordingly. I never found the need to go over 16/8 but I have high end lights.

Gaslight method @BobbyDigital put up is also a good one; especially in summer trying to keep temps down.
