I have learned tons from reading this thread! I did a slurry test for myself. 3/4 cup Ocean Forest/worm castings/myco, 3/4 water at 6.78 ph, let sit for 15 minutes and here is what I ended up with. PH 6.23, ppm 1265, ec 2.5. I suppose if I lower the test water ph to 6.5 might reach that optimal 5.8. Any suggestion would be helpful, this is my first grow…
Somethings wrong. Should have burned the crap out of you as Hydrocloric acid is a Ph of 3.01,
I am not sure if I know what you mean. What will burn the crap out of me? What did I get wrong?
It’s optimal for hydro. Soil pH should be ~6.5.
Ok. Now i understand. So my ph reading of 6.78-6.23 are within the good range? Here are pics of my first grows…
Correct. 6.3 to 6.8 is a good range for soil.
A Ph of 2.anything would be very dangerous. Each number counting from “Neutral 7 Ph” is 10 times more acidic, so a readi g of 6 is 10 times more acidic than 7, 5 is 10 times more acidic than 6 and so in so a 3 is burn the crap out of you. Imagine pouring hydrocloric acid on your hand. I guess i cant believe the reading is accurate.
Thank you for the help. Trying to be a good cultivator is more challenging than I anticipated, but I am greatly enjoying it!
