PH up and PH down amounts

@Lostgirl
Wait a minute. So you have water hitting your roof and drains into a container?.
Doesn’t the water runoff from the shingles pollute the water?
So if I fill 50 gallon drums full of rainwater that water can sit around for months?

Yep you got it. Rain water is just as good as RO water or distilled water. If you’re going to catch it and collect it I suggest putting them in buckets and closing them with lids and keeping them in a cool area not outside in the heat. I’ve stored rain for over 6 months and used it with absolutely no problem and glad that I saved it.

On the topic of water. @Lostgirl is accurate. For me however, I live in the country and I have to use tap water. We don’t get too much rain most of the year, so collection isn’t an option. I have filled 5 gallon buckets with tap water, get a cheap aquarium air pump, some clear air tubing and an air stone defuser. Should cost under $25 on Amazon. Put in all together and fill a 5 gallon bucket up. Drop the airstone in and let sit for 24 hours venting the chlorine out of the water. Been doing this for years with zero issues. On this grow of autos, I just did plain water (kind of an experiment). Plants didn’t miss a beat. I would suggest that you look into Jacks 321 nutrients. I don’t know anything about ILGM line of nutes, but Jacks is simple and effective. I switched from Canna to Jacks about 3 years ago. I buy a 6lb kit off Ebay for around $30. This lasts for about 6 months of back to back grows. I know you have Happy Frog, as mentioned above you don’t need to feed for awhile. This is where your EC meter comes in. Measure the runoff (I use cheap clear catch trays and slotted pot risers. When you get around 300ppm or around there. Time to feed. Another thing is you may consider getting Calmag and silica additives. With Jacks, you won’t need Calmag since one of the ingredients in the kit is Epsom salt. If you add silica, it’s very important to add it first and let it sit for 30 mins to an hour to fully disolve. Then add you nutes and PH the water. Another piece of advice, consider growing in coco. There is a very low chance of overwatering, it is completely neutral of any additives. Only drawback is daily waterings. No flushes either. Anything else, tag me and I’ll try to help.

When some of us ask questions it’s because we don’t know. But it has not escaped my attention there are certain people who like to state " simply read directions on back"
I suppose that is great for people who can make purchases with instructions on back so they can " simply read the directions on back.
So the other day I pulled out my four packages of nutrients that I bought from ILGM store so I could “simply read the directions on the back” as you like to state.
So I have looked at all four packages 7 different times and there are no instructions on the front, sides, top, bottom.
So, to make this post real short instead of really long. Let’s discuss 1 package. These four packages are from ILGM store. Allegedly enough for 5 plants from beginning to end.
I package has 10 grams.
So do I divide 10 grams by 5 plants which would dictate 2 grams per plant?
If so, do I feed it in one watering?
How much water goes with 2 grams?.
How long can the water sit before it starts to change composite?
Does the water need to be PH before or after the mix?.
When a person buys miracle grow there are instructions how much, how often, etc, written on package so that a person can " simply read the instructions on the back".
Or, my fair lady, you could just tell me where I could find some nutrients that have the instructions on the back, so that I can “simply read the instructions on the back”.

I don’t want to mislead you because I’ve never seen nutrients nor do I have any experience with them I don’t even know what they are besides being in a bag. I suggest going back to the page that you purchased it from to see if there’s any additional information there on how to use it. If you’re not getting help on this post I would do a post specifically to “how do you use ILGM nutrients” and see what you got from that. I can’t advise you as I have no information on it.

This should have all the information you’re looking for

Anyway, thanks.

I think he misunderstood from his reply. Thanks for being patient and assisting all those you can. I read a lot more than I post, you dole out pretty sage advice. I’ve seen this in multiple threads.

@anon52654037 Honestly man, I am surprised the bag doesn’t have instructions on it, I’ve never seen one that didn’t. As as for as her growing weed… LMFAO… I’ve seen the pic’s, would love to sample, all her stuff “looks” premo!

For me and a lot of other folks, learning the process and the nuances of the grow and each plants differences is part of the fun. The evolving process for accommodating changing environmental conditions, fine tuning the process which best fits our needs / goals for our crop. It’s all part of the joy and satisfaction of growing. (the cured bud is the most satisfying.) Reading things like the link which she provided is basic ground work prior to starting. Sure, you can come on a forum and ask questions and there are a lot of folks willing to help out. (Really cool) But I think most folks agree, doing the reading and home work on your own will get you where you want to be as a grower, a whole lot faster.

Best wishes for you on your growing endeavors, I hope we all end up with big fat smiles and red eyes.

A very well written comment. :v: And thank you very much. Everything I’ve learned I’ve learned from someone on this forum. I know when to keep my mouth shut and I only give back what was so freely given to me. I enjoy assisting people. Some more appreciative than others

So I took your advice about contacting the place I bought the stuff from. I actually contacted them right away after you suggested it. I may or may not hear back from them.
I asked if you could point me in the right direction so I could get something else that might have directions. You did that also. Thanks for your help.
But I suppose that I should also mention that the information that you sent me I already had because those are the same 4 packages that I bought from ILGM that do not have any instructions on any of the four packages. But it is no big deal. Maybe I’ll figure it out, maybe I won’t. And I should also point out that after I built my custom box, everything I learned and bought in preparation to do this came from reading what people suggested I do.
@Bubbala mostly, among others was especially very helpful when it came to me trying to figure out how to even bring forth my exhaust and intake air for my earthquake/tornado/gunfire safety shelter/grow room.
But anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Glad I could be of help. You’ll have to post some pics when you get all set up and start your grow journal. You know how we all love pics!

Just use tap water from the tap and get u some jacks for tap water. Should smoothen out all the bumps in the water with the jacks for tap water. Like everyone stayed up top always mix nutrients in order of operations like if u use silica and calmag they go first before base nutes do. Start silica and stir well then cLmag stir well then base nutes. Certain nutes will leach on other nutes if mixed in the wrong order and will cause a lockout for thos particular parts.
1 silica if u use it
2 calmag if u use it if u don’t use silica start with calmag. Then base nute. Always pH the mix before u add in microbes like tribus mammoth pH and things like so as the pH up and down will kill off some.of the beneficial stuff in it so mix pH then add microbes if u choose to use recharge u have to pH the water first then add recharge same as with tribus the pH up/down will kill off certain parts of that also. I’d also see about getting a small bottle of hydro guard and add some.hydro guard in very last after it is PhD and ready to water add in bydroguard as it will help maintain a little better level in the soil and help not get so much nasty to start to form.in the mediums. Sounds like u wanna get rolling with everything needed which is a good thing. I did the opposite and started with nothing at all but seeds from a bag of weed I copped.from.my aunt. Lol. Well turned out Hermie beans so I went on a journey found ilgm and started to buy seeds then ig came along and met massive amounts of growers who were very generous with seeds and lots there will give seeds away for u to grow and put word out on their seeds. Hope u find all u need to make a great successful grow. Good luck imma watch and follow along as I love seeing new ideas and well pot plants just look amazing and r something beautiful to look at lol

The link that I sent you has all the information on how to feed your plants with their nutrients there’s also a feeding chart that tells you how much to give them and when

As far as recommending other nutrients unfortunately I have only used one brand of nutrients. I personally use advanced nutrient products. They are very expensive probably the most expensive nutrients on the market. The old saying goes if it ain’t broke don’t fix it so I’ve always used them they work well for me. There’s a lot of other good nutrients out there that I’m not familiar with that are much cheaper Fox farm trio, Jacks, general hydronics just to mention a few unfortunately I don’t use them so I can’t tell you anything about them

Thank you my fair lady.
I doubt I’ll be in contact with anymore questions till April 15th. That is the target date to start my two godfather og plants.
I’m making sure that I have everything I need, questions answered, documents printed, gauges, soils, nutrients, etc, etc before I start.
I was only able to achieve this thanks to each and everyone of the members of the forum who patiently answered my continuous questions.
Thanks to everybody and I wish everybody a great grow.
