Perpetual AutoPot Grow

@CC_Mo

I have had no issues with the reservoir itself but have had Flexi Fittings crack. I think its because the reservoir is raised and then the filter hangs on it and it weakens. I wish that would make these out of brass and not plastic. What issues have you heard?

Flexi Fittings

I use this to circulate the water. It is set to run for 30 minutes every 3 hours.

Cool, so you do have a pump. The issues I’ve heard of are ph rising over time. It looks like the circulating res must be the answer since you’re not having problems.
Your system seems to be dialed in perfect. It’d be a big plus being able to leave the plants for extended periods like you do with no worries.
Great work!

Will help keep your reservoirs ph consistent weekly and the Torus i used cause i run 250 gallon totes on each row of 50 plants :potted_plant:. So keeping your reservoir moving and bubbling almost like a fish salt water aquarium.
If you want to step it up and recirculate your water and filter it , add a Canister filter .

4 stage filtration !

Ahh. Oh. Yes, my PH does climb but so far hasn’t caused major issues.

When I’m home I keep it about 5.8-5.9. Before I leave for 2 weeks I adjust it a bit lower 5.7-5.75. When I get home it’s still just about 6 but I always fill the reservoir and ph it the day I get home.

So the larger res seems to benefit you in the ph department plus having a pump.
Am I thinking on this correctly? More volume will you stay in range longer?

Wish I could answer that. I’ve only had the 60 gallon reservoirs. Not sure how quickly the smaller ones float on ph

If you keep the water moving constantly like a salt water fish aquarium , you must have a constant current to keep your salt levels balanced for you coral and fish , same concept!
If you move you water in the rwservoir it will stablize longer !

I havnt had any issues with mine floating. No pump. I dump anywhere between 3-9 gallons in my 12gl rez and it’s never really moved

I have a 31 gallon res with my autopots and I ph at 5.8 and its never risen more then 6.2 most time maybe up to 6. Not had any issues with the 5.8-6.2 fluctuations, I have no pump, I use gh trio, cal-mag, and h2o2 only in res, coco/perlite.
Idk if I’ve just gotten lucky so far as ive not had the pots long, but so far they’ve done well.

do you, or anyone else use fishshit or other microbes in your res

Sure, many people do. But if you watch some videos on useing autopots for organic growing, its more trouble then its worth to me anyways.
So i run a sterile system with no microbes of any kind.
I choose the benefits of h2o2 and the ease of no “organics” at all in my autopots over benefits of microbes.

H2o2 would kill any microbes good and bad in my system.
However, its near impossible for anything including pests to serve in my coco, my reservoir never smells bad, my water stays super oxygenated, list goes on to the benefits of h2o2.

Thanks for the explanation Pappy. I am considering autopots and always wondered about microbes in the res. I currently use jacks321 + fishshit in coco

I’m pretty sure it was him that uses fishsh!t

@1HappyPappy

How much h2o2 per gallon do you use?

Between 3-5ml per gallon. Most time closer to 3ml per gallon.

If you adding microbes to your reservoir , just make sure you keep the water moving constantly in the reservoir and not just with an air stone.
Will help stabilize ph longer also to prevent swings or spikes .

I used both on 250 gallon totes with a 50 pots on each tote !

2ml per gallon in soil less applications for fishshit @emgoldslo

Friday update. 7 weeks since flip. Really only one stacking nice. The others are ok but I think had too much stretch. Still smells great :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Figure at least 3 weeks to go which is good as I head to Florida tomorrow through the 12th and then when I get home leave on the 14th to drive to Florida with my wife and son for a week. Earliest I can even harvest will be 23rd or 24th. Think I timed it right!

These are 2 weeks old except for the little lady that is about 5 days above ground

So cute at this age lmao

Thanks for looking!
