I’m not sure what those are , but food grade diatomaceous earth is a good start. It has spikes that are sharp at a microscopic level that will cut the exoskeleton of bugs. And it will dry them out killing them and not harmful to the plants.
There’s also neem oil but I wouldn’t spray that on flowering plants because it can ruin the taste of your buds.
Spiosad is a insect killer also and I’ve seen it said around the forum so it should be ok.
Anyone else wanna take a Crack at it?
@m4ur is in Europe and @diehigh55 in Belgium.
@MattyBear @Willd @Big123 all grow outside

Those look like aphids, @HvtAna1988 could make a very nasty for the bugs and completely harmless to the plants, mixture of chili peppers, garlic, dishwasing soap and some other household ingredients.
Mince one organic clove of garlic and one medium sized organic onion. Add to a quart of water. Wait one hour and then add one teaspoon of cayenne pepper and one tablespoon of liquid soap to the mix. This organic spray will hold its potency for one week if stored in the refrigerator.

Not to dispute what you said @DieHigh55 I’ve heard and saw a couple of people post terrible effects after using more than a couple of drops of dish soap. Burnt the plants bad.
A few drops of dawn will do the trick without harmful effects

GoodMorning @Nug-bug @DieHigh55 @HvtAna1988 I have used organocide with great results, kills on contact, its OMRI listed and have even sprayed up to the second week of flowering without no affect to taste. I have used on seedlings and fresh cut clones without negative effects, it’s a little stinky but a great product.

They are aphids for sure but… No Dawn, please!
MILD MILD MILD and just a few drops.
Dawn is the stuff that nearly ended @Screwauger’s grow prematurely.

Something like Sals Suds or the cheap yellow or orange store brand stuff. Dawn contains degreasers.

Don’t use neem on flowering plants.

I’m always leery about seedlings MrsWillD brings home from the farm being a transport mechanism for pests & disease we might not otherwise come in contact with.

I think the soap recommended is a real mild hand soap or baby soap, not really dish soap as that would be, as you pointed out, too caustic for the plants. It’s purpose is to “glue” the pepper mix to the plant. I’ve used this on tomatoes and it’s pretty good.

Good thinking.

Of course ideally an army of ladybugs or mantis’ would be best.

It was an accident, Moe , it won’t happen again!

@Willd is correct.

Almost 1 yr ago to date, I applied a solution I read about online that was a mixture of dawn, water and neem oil. Almost killed two healthy plants (and most certainly set them back 3 weeks as they recovered). I was using it to prevent any pest issues.

Be very careful as this mixture was touted as the cure all and completely safe. I would likely not do it again but on the chance that I might have to, I immediately bought 7th generation mild, natural soap to use. Frankly, what the soap provides is a mechanism to break surface tension so as to allow more equal distribution and coverage as well as to help the oil and water combine more efficiently to form a solution (I think).

Introduce ladybugs :lady_beetle: to garden, they will eat aphids.

Didn’t know that’s what happened to screwaugers grow. I’ve used 2 drops per gal with reg.dawn w/o incident. House plants not mj mind you.
So by all means dont use it @HvtAna1988
Safer soap is another mild soap to use

Looks like you got some good help @HvtAna1988. I have used food grade DE and applied it all over the plant. Looks like snow all over your plants, but bugs hate it and it helps keep them away. The others offered good suggestions as well

yeah those kind of dilutions it coudn’t be too harmful.
The Diatomaceous Earth @MattyBear suggests is a good low maintenance preventive measure as well.
