That is when I feel is safe to stay outside…
Yes that’s also what I have read, 15
4 weeks since this seedling broke the top of the soil. She’s like the little engine that could. She continues to forge forward. Pics are taken at 2 day intervals
She is still trying
Brought in the ladies and gents on Friday night. Was a little chilly and cloudy yesterday so that’s where they stayed I’ll put them back out when the sun warms it up. Currently it’s only 39°f
10 more dna test got ordered yesterday hoping for better results than the last 4.
Tracking shows the fresh regular skunk #1 seeds being delivered Tuesday. I cannot say enough good things about authentic genetics customer service. Gives me great confidence in the seed.
Nice looking plants growmie.
@David1974 ,sorry but I just saw your question.
When I had 11 separate fields I would plant garlic in the fall then fertilize it when about 4-8” tall.i would use a sprayer off the back of my tractor.I would use any high nitrogen fertilizer I could get.Garlic really doesn’t need anything after than especially when the bulbs are forming.
After harvest I would grow a green crop of buckwheat and till/plow it in as soon as I saw flowers. You really don’t want it to start throwing seeds. The buckwheat acted as a green manure.
I had like 50 acres to plant but only planted about maybe 4 with garlic.
My garden was maybe 100 X 100 for vegetables and such. We rarely bought from a store or stand.I had access to all the aged cow manure I could ever need.
That was when I lived in Steuben County in NYS now I live in the Dark Corner of SC. On a postage stamp.Taxes just got to be to much and taking care of 50 acres got to be to much as well.
Now retired 16 yrs May 1st.Enjoying my live in the south and the weather.
This banana kush is finicky as hell.
Going to be extremely windy today but i put the plants out anyway. What don’t kill them will only make them stronger! Right? Lol
Well the wind has steady picked up and currently is blowing at 30mph. Looks like it’s going to stay at a steady 30mph until 5pm then by 8pm back under 10mph. The ladies are handling it really well and i really believe they should want water by now but they are all looking happy so I’ll wait. Supposed to frost tonight it’ll be too cold to go out before i leave for work. So they’ll go back under the T-5’s until Thursday morning. And on Thursday night I’m debating if i should leave them out for rain over night.
Yeah that’s some pretty harsh wind.
Wild hair day for the ladies.
How much moister did fox farm ocean forest hold. These plants are cranking inside gallon pots. Yet I have not had to water them in over a week. I thought for sure they would want water today but they all look happy. So i continue to wait. Just hate watering until they ask for it.
@Bentstick i think i may have popped seeds a little early here in the middle of the mitten. It’s my first time really growing from seed so i think i got a little excited. My plants are on the 6 node and ready for a top already and it’s not even may yet. Live and learn i suppose.
Keep them fed, they will be ok, you can keep up potting them until ground time, our last frost up here ( according to Farmers Almanac) May 29th so mine will put outdoor 2 nd week of June you should be a bit earlier than that.
That was my target planting time just because of sunlight hours. But i think if i can get to the last week of May ill be past all chance of frost down here. Maybe i need to Google the almanac myself and see what it says for here
Anyone following along got advice on topping?
My plants are on the 6th and some are on the 7th node can i top them back to the 4th node or is that to low.
