OutDoor GDP and Durban Poison

ILGM Durban Poison and Grandaddy Purple started in mid to late may. In 7 gallon pots, self mixed soil, Topped at 7th node and removed the bottom two, fed Alaskan Nutes once a week.
Do these plants need a trim? I have been tucking and plucking as needed, they started to flower the past 2 weeks. I see some people rid foliage during flower, I never have, should I? And when?

No trimming needed here my friend. Even less needed if you leave them outside

Normally, you would defoliate before flowering to provide airflow and prevent wet spots. But your plant seem to have plenty of airflow so you should be good for a while. :+1:

These are my outdoor plants… I let them run the full season outdoors. As far as trimming, I never have with my outdoors and always get decent harvests but nothing like my indoors. Then I see some of these outdoor growers growing amazingly dense plants and wonder whats the factor behind it. I have read trimming had to do with getting optimal light to the bud spots and making room for flower growth. I am guessing this is just bro science?

No it’s true. But you need to do a lot of high stress training to expose more buds to the light and to change the apical dominance of your plants.

Also, your pots looks a bit small for outdoor plants. The bigger your pots, the bigger the root balls and that equals to being able to supply more buds with nutrients.
I’m guessing when you harvest your outside plants, there’s not much medium left in the pots. If you don’t want to transplant them in bigger pots, you can feed them more often to give them what they need…

Here’s one of mine I grew a couple of years back, in a 10 gallons pot:

Wooooaahhhh!!! That’s massive!!
I wanna grow outdoor now!! :joy::pleading_face:

What medium do you use to grow brother? I mean soil, Coco and nutes or organic?

Usually, I use HP Pro-Mix, and for that one I used Advanced Nutrients.
That particular plant went through hell and back. I put her outside in April. But we had a couple of snowfalls during that month. She lost almost all her leaves and everyone tought she was dead. But I brought her back to the land of the living and she turned out super nice, even if I say so myself

At this time, it’s probably the last few days he could supercrop without slowing the flowering process… which should begin soon if he’s in the northern hemisphere…

It’s easier to break the apical dominance with a good supercrop, imo.

That’s a little scary for me!! Hahaha!

Do you supercrop all the branches? The thick ones? Can you do this?

I had to supercrop one branch because of the height in my tent! I’m curious to know if I can supercrop them all! Next run! Ofcourse! Hahahah!

Anything… The point is to have most of the buds on the same level…

Here’s a video I did of the outside girl I showed you earlier…

And another video on how to supercrop:
