That is correct. It will take a few weeks before you start to see small flowers.
Within the first few weeks of the light switch the plants will go into what is called the stretch or transition phase. During this time you will see some vigorous growth.
This is what I bought last year befor buying a potting mix. I need a soil for out doors but I was told to not buy any soil with time release nutrients. This one says that. I bought it before I knew about that. Can I use it though is it really that bad. If not what’s the most inexpensive big bag I can get to start a good grow
Hippie runner does it have to be a garden mix. Or can you use potting soil for out doors.
It can be either really. Overall it’s marketing.
Garden mix: Let’s hit all the gardeners.
Potting mix: Let’s get all the people potting plants.
Basically the same thing. Look at the overall makeup.
Now did you read what was on the bag is it ok with the slow release-nutrients. I’ve been told not to use it. Or can I. If I can’t I’ll use it for the vegetables I’m gonna grow.
Here’s a few pics of my first autos.
GG GSC and Bruce Banner they started to flower one month from seed. Crazy. The gg is tall but skinny not no fat Nugs. Gsc and Bruce are incredible. And the smells forget about it.
@HippieRunner1 hey man just got to say they are monster’s I so wish I could put mine in the ground bloody stupid government gotta ruin it for us all.
It will be alright. Check out Coco Lock from fox farms. It’s an alright soil to start with to get things going.
Coco Loco**
So hippie yesterday I went in to groom the girls. And I fed them on wed. And yesterday they was so dry I had to give them water. The pots were very light and it was only two days from the last feeding. So instead of giving them more nutrients I just fed plain water till run off. But not much and when I came back back later on there’s was all set on the bottom so they needed it. What I’m planning on doing is giving them nutrients once a week and in between feeds just plain water to get them through to their next jacks feeding. Does that sound right or should I be feeding them nutrients every time. My autos are almost done. I just want them to get a little fatter and there’s still some white hairs on some of the flowers so I’m gonna let them rock out for a few more weeks maybe even till the end of the month. The hydros. I changed them over almost a week ago tomorrow one plant is showing signed of white so I know she’ll be flowering real soon the others I don’t see anything yet. I have them on 10 hrs on 14 off. I have my light at about 500 570. Around there. It’s on six clicks. I have 4 clicks left and let me tell you I don’t think I’m gonna put it any night bc it’s already to hot in the tent. So I can imagine at almost 700w. It would be too hot it’s a sauna in there when it’s on. I even have uva bar rocking out at the same time along with the light. It’s supposed to generate finer ressin and growth instead of stretching. I really don’t know much about it. But I’ve been told that it helps with the bud. Some people don’t agree some do. If it can help with yield and a better quality bud then I’m all for it. If it’s not hurting it then I’m with it.
Everything you are doing sounds like you are on the correct path. I personally feed my home garden once per week and the rest of the time use the drip lines with fresh water. The soil will hold a lot more nutrients than one mag think. Hints the problem some get with salt build up and plant lock out. So yes. Keep doing what you are doing.
Can you toss up a photo sometime? Would love to see what’s going on ![]()
We all are like this, no disrespect, just some brain cells exercising independence and youthfullness, no thought required, no harm intended.
So hippie I bought the coco loco. From fox farm. I’ll get it tomorrow
I don’t know if any of yous heard of affirm. It’s an app that allows you to buy now pay in installments. That’s how I got my light. I buy everything with affirm or Afterpay. Bought my light from HLG. Scorpion. So if anyone wants to buy a new light or nutrients. Or soil. I just bought 4 bags of fox farm for 126. But I pay $13 a month until it’s paid off. Come on you can’t beat that. My light I pay 108 a month. My hydro system I pay 20 dollars a month. I live affirm. So go check it out. If your credit is good your good. And it doesn’t affect your credit score to find out how much they will loan you up to. Hope this helps someone.
Thanx for the photos. Everything is looking like it is coming along nicely. A few alittle quicker than others but that’s to be expected.
It sounds like you got some good growing supplies for sure. It’s crazy how fast they will start to accumulate over the next few years. It’s kinda fun to dig through the growing supplies from time to time.
Probably one of the worlds most enjoyable hobbies.
So with this coco loco do I still have to feed with nutrients or does the soil live up to its word that it has everything a plant needs. Let me know.
If I’m using it for seeds or small small clones I keep it as is. If it’s anything over a month or so old I like to ad alittle bio-live/ kelp and humic acid. I also like to add a few handfuls of the soil that will be its final resting place.
Example…
I will start my seeds this week straight in the coco loco in a 4inch plastic pot. They will go in this for about 3ish weeks. No teas or anything. Maybe alittle cal/mag towards the end of the three weeks. —> Next I will transplant them into 1 gallon fabric grow bags. This is what I consider the transit phase of the soil. Due to the fact we started with coco loco and our ending with our living soil. This soil mix will be the coco loco, coco fiber, bio-live, alittle kelp, makos and Azos. Plus a hand full or two of the soil from our outside garden. The plants will grow in this indoors for about 2ish months. Really focusing on plant health and width. —> Finely the 10 healthy plants will be transitioned to their finial resting place outdoors in 100 gallon fabric grow bags. 100% living soil.
Kinda gives you a brief rundown from another point of view.
I was about to buy three pack of the Coco Loco but right when I was about to do it I found a four pack for the same amount of money so I got a four pack and not the small stuff I got the big bags
I have read that when you get a mentor whatever he does or whatever he tells you do I asked about what kind of medium should I grow in you said get the Coco loco and that’s what I did and I know for sure my babies this year going to have a good good home. Thank you sir.
