I tried to search for a topic related to this but couldn’t find. For those who have some experience under their belts, what is your opinion of organic grows vs non-organic? I am trying to maintain all organic but wondered if the difference is noticeable in the final product or not.
I feel that you can taste the difference between non- organic and organic. I’m definitely an organic fan myself
Once organic is established the fear of over fertilizing is minimized and ph usually balances itself out in the soil. Also like @HippieRunner1 said I’ve read organic has a smoother taste but not sure, These were the reasons I chose to grow organic.
I have been running 100% organic for the past 6+ years. The only time I have noticed my plants getting burnet is when my ratio of humic acid is alittle to high. This allows the plants to soak up ‘way’ to much of everything.
Side note… I haven’t checked ph or ppm in 6+ years
I grow in a living soil everything I use is organic. I feed the microbes in the soil not the plants. Im on a well ph is 8.0 I dont adjust it at all. I’ve never had any kind of nutrient lockout.
Those are some monsters! Gets me excited see what I can grow but I’m indoors so won’t be as big
I absolutely love growing in living soil. It gives you time to enjoy your grow instead of worrying about to much of this that or the other thing and measuring run off.
I’m 100% organic and always have been. I did try salts twice. After the first harvest, I thought I screwed up, so I ran it again. There was definitely no screwup. Glaring difference to my taste buds and nose.
Somebody just started a grow off between organics and salts using the same clone. I can’t find it in a search, but when they post again, I’ll tag you over.
I was thinking of doing this next year with same seeds grown with different methods to see the end result. Looking forward to seeing, if you can find it.
He just updated a few days ago, so I don’t expect it to be long.
Seeds all have variations, but clones are exact copies.
Organic in soil was easier, i get bigger yields with non organic nutrients. I’ve never noticed a difference in taste or quality between the two
I am also running organic. Have not used a salt besides some calcium chloride to prevent blossom end rot on my tomatoes in probably 6-7 years. Nothing else but fermented stinky noxious weed anaerobic tea, char and wood ash, fall leaves (pure garden gold), coffee grounds, and table scraps. + 3 big compost tumblers. I feed the soil in the off season and almost never add anything once the garden is growing.
I found an old splash this year of Alaska fish ferts from 6-7 years ago and tried to finish it off. All I did was fry my cucumbers and a couple young peach trees. Luckily the cannabis was ok. The slow go organic composted feeds never burn the plants. It really is that easy.
I could not have said it better.
I’m not a here and now person so I’d rather it take it’s time and do it right.
I’m soil to the soul Growmies and organics for the win!!! I’m not knocking on people who use a non-organic though but salt goes on my plate jk
Me either but have been repeating the same thing for a couple of years now
I like to fix a buffet in my soil and they can get much as they want when they want it.
Eer ya go
