Sprinkled some @Roadsideorganics.ok scratched into the soil, chopped and dropped the cover clover blend from build-a-soil then watered in.

I’ll let them veg a few more weeks then flip :sunglasses:

Then a GDP on the right and Blue Widow on the left but in coco outdoor grow. PITA to feed twice a day though

Have you thought about any automated watering for the 2 coco plants something like a Blumat system?https://a.co/d/dRIBYOD

I have been considering automating my indoor grows, hand feeding all along so kinda used to it now lol. I just take a small bucket outside and hand feed them, not worth spending money on outdoor stuff for me. Those plants will more than likely be used for edibles

I just know the few growers ive seen do coco outdoors either are automated or wish they where since coco dries out so dam fast lol i also would like to get automated for my in door girls especially my 4x2 no till bed

I can’t picture your bed, but making it into a big SIP would come close…aerate the reservoir with a fishtank pump to keep it from stagnating. Kind of like an XXL earthbox :slightly_smiling_face:

I use a 55 gallon tote from HD roughly 12 cubic feet of soil with bunch of holes in the bottom for drainage and air i got the original idea from a thread i found on Reddit the OP actually had it set up as a SIP i may have to buy another tote and give it a try

If you do, and aerate the res…you are going to need a much bigger tent

Im in a over sized SF 4x2 tent and have plenty of room actually the is close to 7ft tall lol and i wouldn’t aerate it as you dont with a normal earth box and i actually found the OP i mentioned on that Reddit thread

I thought it was  Not big enough, for what I referenced.

Try it for yourself before deciding based on limited internet stuff, that is the only way you will gain empirical evidence for yourself.

I’ve only grown autos in organic soil and I’ve grown in pots and buckets, fabric and plastic and other materials; and then I started using organic soil in SIPs and aerating the reservoir so I can fill it up and plant a germinated seed from day 1…the easiest indoor seed-to-harvest method I’ve ever seen and the plants I butcher for environment reasons still consistently produce a QP+ in 5g SIPs with less than 4g of organic soil…I believe they let the plants drink more effectively in veg/flowering, much more so than I could ever get them to do by hand-watering the same amount of soil, fwiw.

You could grow trees of weed in that size organic soil SIP, but I assume you don’t need that much weed every ~100 days

One more thought for perspective…the amount of organic soil in that size tote has grown more than 6 pounds of better than dispensary medicine from autos that were purposely kept small and topped, schwazzed multiple times, and super-cropped as necessary for environment reasons; in 5g SIPs, fwiw.

Sheeet the wife and myself consume alot tbh lmfao but in all reality i can see where aerating can have big benefits ive tried organic soil in autopots with a air pump and the rapid growth in veg made me think i was im coco lol but i felt 5 gallons of soil wasn’t enough im now using 10 gallon pots for my other tent and the bed for my big tent this tote has only been threw 2 runs so far and my 1st run was close to 2lbs and im hoping my recent harvest thats currently drying is a solid LB it was a solo plant run so fingers :crossed_fingers: haha

Word. If you’re already getting 3-5+ lbs of quality dry per year out of your 2x4 in organic soil, water-only seed-to harvest; I’m not going to try to convince you to switch to anything else to produce the same unless there are things you don’t like about the setup.

I just feel bad when people want that and do the myriad of other things people tell them to do, for exponentially more time every day/week throughout a grow, and expenses involved, and they get worse results.

Grow-on buddy :evergreen_tree: :evergreen_tree: :evergreen_tree:

Nah i totally appreciate any insight man i look at all criticism as positive criticism and ignore the rest lmao i genuinely live everything about this tote so far besides portability there aint no moving 12 cuft of soil dry or wet haha atleast not easily
