I’m sure my regular compost and also my chicken clean out compost might be enough but I’m not sure, don’t really want to buy anymore dry amendments for this run

Chicken manure is high in nitrogen, so you probably don’t want much for flower. Banana water an molasses is something I’m starting to use. Still figuring out the mix yet, but I seen a few people using it.

@GreenJewels maybe able to suggest something as well.

Like @Dforce suggested, a banana ferment for flower would be high in K and P. Look into korean Natural Farming. Make some FPJ and FFJ to make your own fertilizer for cheap. You can make FPJ with just pestiside free weeds from the yard and brown sugar. Plants high in potassium would be useful.

Thankyou!!!

Banana, mango & pineapple FFJ is my goto. The pineapple and mango have a good amount manganese. When you up the K you need to up the Mn, as they work in synergy.

Thats cool as Hell and very inspirational. I’ve been waiting to get a good strong plant to clone. I haven’t found a worthy plant yet.

With living soil id 100% use cover crop even in doors it helps retain moisture, gives a home to microbiology, helps with compaction of the soil, can be used as a green mulch layer in return breaks down and becomes food for the soil so uhh yeah id beg to differ respectfully

Clone rooting experiment, it turns out that straight, moist, perlite roots the fastest. I did soil/perlite, CVGP, straight vermiculite, and straight perlite.

Out of the 2 that are rooted, so far, perlite won it hands down.

Next to show a root was the CVGP

Edit: I know somebody’s gonna ask, Coir, Vermiculite, Gypsum, Perlite. Mushroom growers call CVG - Bulk casings

I’ve been debating a cover crop, I’m organic and indoors. What do you recommend @LiesGrows

I personally use a cover crop blend from @Roadsideorganics.ok but i will be buying the Build A Soil 12 seed cc blend for more diversity

I’m getting a bunch of soil gnats :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: can I use mosquito bits with living soil? Any other ways to get rid of them buggers?

Sorry Doc, that sucks…it’s been a long time since I’ve needed anything more than the yellow sticky paper wth indoor soil grows:

A lot of folks on here will offer more extensive methods to deal with them. Hope it resolves quickly.

Yes it’s just BTI

This is what i use it is the same thing as mosquito bits but in a concentrated liquid form a few drops goes a long way it works significantly better than the Bits or Dunks https://a.co/d/020ZUTl5

Thanks, as long as it doesn’t mess with the soil I’ll give it a shot. I think I got a few dunks, I’ll try crumbling up some of those first if not I’ll try the liquid stuff, looks like it would last forever at a few drops here n there :sunglasses:

I’d also set a water trap for them. Put the Bits into a solo cup water and add 1 tsp sugar. Replace trap in tent weekly.
