I’m on my third grow with living soil, and each time about halfway into flower my leaves start getting pale. I use ffhf mixed with perlite, worm castings, fox farm fruit and flower 4-9-3, and top dressed once at the beginning of flower. Also use a little bio thrive bloom. Is there some other organic nutrient I should be using to keep leaves green at this point? It’s not bad yet, but looks like it could be starting. You can kind of see towards the center.
Judging from those pics they don’t look bad but pics can be deceiving. Usually when yellowing occurs it’s a sign of nitrogen running low, but that’s not really what I’m seeing. I would try getting some super thrive and give them a drop in their water, it should green them back up. It is a micronutrient and vitamin.
The plant overall doesn’t look to bad at all. If I were in your situation I would give it some fish/crab/shrimp solution and also calmag. I would mix them up half strength. See how she reacts to that.
True organic growing the soil should contain most of everything the plant needs. Over time the plant will obtain what nutrients is needed for the correct stage of growth.
Looks good buddy keep it up
I have a question on organic grow! So what I did was use living soil I purchased off Amazon and mixed with 1/3 soil at the bottom and then top off with the rest of media filling the pot! I used Dr Earth dry amendment 50% and mix that one week after start of flower. I’ve been noticing I have a lot of yellow leaves towards the bottom and some are starting to turn under the canopy towards the top plants look decent, but just one week ago being it was 3 weeks I gave them full strength of the doctor earth button bloom and all-purpose I did six tablespoons of bloom and four tablespoons of all purpose and my TDS numbers were through the roof. One of the numbers was over 9,000, that was the front The back left was 4,600 and the back right was 1280. I ended up taking the top layer off the soil where I put the dry amendments My concern now is are they going to have enough time to finish I am 5 weeks 4 days in to flower? I know the back right at 12:50 will probably need something more before harvest but the ones that are super high do you think those will be okay as they do have super soil and technically you do not have to give them anything besides water and cal-mag So far I’ve had a perfect run and I just do not want to burn these things to the ground as they look amazing and buds are looking really nice any suggestions would help thank you so much!
They look great. I do something similar. I use happy frog mixed with perlite, worm castings, happy frog fruit and flower 4-9-3, bone meal, and blood meal. I use cal mag, and recharge occasionally. Measuring ppm runoff for organics is useless. I don’t even worry about it. Just keep watering like you’re doing, and you’ll come out ok. My plant is on day 54 of 12/12. I got a little coloring going on as well, but the buds are super dense, so it’ll be fine. I even quit ph’ing my water, and the runoff buffers to 6.5
I did mix castings in with the soil when I mixed up everything before I transplanted! I did take off just the top layer where I put the dry amendments which was Dr Earth not sure if that was the right thing to do or not! I just want to make sure they have enough food and can stay healthy for another 3 to 4 weeks
With the fruit and flower 4-9-3, you’re supposed to top dress every 4 weeks with the appropriate amount listed on the package, so I do. It takes a couple weeks for it to break down to the point the plant can use it.
