Just finished my 2nd grow and would like some advice on drying.
Im drying in my tent, right now I’ve got the exhaust at 75% with carbon scrubber. Is that too high? Should i have a fan on low?
The humidity is 56%
My last harvest i felt it dried out too fast. Any advice would be great.
I’ve had dry fast issues as well. Now I hang intire plant upside down in tent with exhust and filter at 75% and a 6" ocessolator fan on the floor just moving air around.
The air just needs to move. Lower temps are better. Mid 70s(?).
56%Rh is probably OK
I tried drying in my tent. Ever again. I use my bathroom to dry. Then move it to a closet while I use the shower. Let the humidity drop before placing it back in.
I have used cardboard boxes as well.
I usually cut off bud and put in a drying net for 3-5 days.
Then I put on jars until RH is below 62%.
After that toss in an 8 gram 62% Bovida pack and let it rest for at least a month before smoking.
This lets chlorophyll degrade and mellow out the smoke. Quart jar holds 56 grams / ~2 ounces nicely
Anything above 70 degrees is too high. The humidity should be 55 to 60%. I personally do 65 to 68 degrees and 55 to 60% and it takes about 10 days.
I always dry in a tent with a humidfior and a humidity controller on my exhaust fan.
When trimming I try to leave each branch at full size because I wet trim.
I set the. Humidifier for 5% above whatever I set the exhaust fan to, so it’s constantly kicking in and kicking off.
First day I run 65%
Then I drop it down to 50% over time.
I tend to chang where I jave to dry/hang each year. This is what I tossed up this year. Had to use part of the mini gym. I will remove the bulbs above this area to hinder some of the light. It is what it is
I will chop large sections off and hang them to dry. All small duff will get placed onto the shade cloath. I like a slow dry. I will turn a fan on a few times a day for a few mins to move the air around.
We all kinda have our own styles.
Happy growing…
Thanks for all the advice,it’s really appreciated.
@anon86641082 we did similar, used screen doors as the racks. And a trip of polly with Velcro on the sides to keep it drying slow
Well… i started trimming my buds today and just found 2 spots with bud rot. Can I cut those spots out or throw the whole bud out?
You can cut it out. Just make sure to get it all
If it only 1 bud, toss it.
Thanks,I just ended up removing the whole bud. The whole thing smelled like mold. Here I thought the tips were brown due to heat. Must have been the rot causing it.
