yeah thats the plan!
I want the tent / conditions perfect before i put my plant in there!
and dont worry… if i need any help ill ask!!
Alright brother, you seem like you got a good handle on it. Check out my grow journals if you want. I’ve got some soil, some hydro, autoflowers, and feminized plants goin. Good luck growin
Diesel
Yeah i think reading thru a few journals might be very helpful at this stage!
Cheers Diesel!
That’s the best way to learn is from experience and others experiences
Yep!
thas exactly why im on this site!!
so i can ask and learn from people like yourself who have been there n done it already!
Glad to hear it and holler if you need anythin brother
I’m not telling you to go spend money you don’t have , what I’m trying to help you prevent is spending twice like many of us have done. If you invest once in the right light regardless of your first grow you’ll definitely get a nice return, more intense light equals more bud. But you get what you pay for and quality cost period. Meizhi lights and viparspectra are very cheap affordable lights, verses Mars hydro are Advance, Kind, Apache Tech brands, but you can get a Meizhi 450 watt for $125 on Amazon and it’s about 200 watts of Par which you sjoukd yield about 2 ounces, mainly whatever your output is in light is about what you will get far as yield. 200 watts divide by 28 gram equal how many ounces. My only intention is you spend once and get the most for your money repeatedly, if not I promise you by December you’ll be buying another light, I’m on my fourth light but quality never goes on sale, you never see a commercial on Bentley, Ferrari are Lamborghini do you, cause quality cost and it never loose it’s value. All I’m saying is buy what you can afford but the more light you have the better your return on yield would be in grams per square foot.
Was wondering I you used any CO2 and would that be important for 1 or 2 plants?
I do used Co2 both methods, I used the grobro yeast and sugar bucket and I used Hot Ice in the last week of pre flower which is week 3 after the switch to 12\12 but that’s just me.
Are those methods on any of the threads here? When u say hot ice is this the same as dry ice? Would be interested in learning more about these methods, thx for the feedback Yoshi!
ha! No probs @yoshi!
Didnt think you were!
yeah completely agree its always worth paying for quality and to think ahead
i was more surprised at the idea of 2400 watts in a tent the size of mine!
i think my most limiting factor is the height of the tent being only 160 cm / 5.2’
with having to keep the light a certain distance above the plant (24") plus the thickness of the light (4"?!?) and taking the height of the grow pot (8"?!?) into consideration ive only got say 2’ to grow into
and with a light that strength id need to keep it even further away!
altho if its possible itd definitely be something to consider!!
I do use Co2. I bought a compost bag off Amazon that generates Co2. I forget the name but it did help bring up my humidity levels not sure if it helped the yield.
@man10101 this is my tent
, and it’s a 2x2x5 and I have three led lights inside it with a 6 inch inline fan on top and a 4 inch inline fan on the bottom with variable speed controls. Now when I bought the tent it came with a 400 watt no name brand China built light . I did a grow and I think the plant yielded 1.5 , so in my research I found the light was only 124 watts of true par output. So I wanted a bigger stronger light, than I found Advance Led light company, called them and tech support told me that an XTE 200 was be plenty to grow 4 plants in that size tent with that light, so I tried that and I think I lost two plants do to all kinds of issues, over watering, nutrient toxicities and leaf burn, which I finish two plants and I think it was two ounces, than I started more research and seen a guy on YouTube grow four autos in the same size tent but with a much bigger Led light a DS XML 350 and yield almost 10 ounces, so I figured I needed more light power, so yes I bought another light, now I have 3 lights shoved inside a 2x2x5 tent which cost me almost $1500 when I could of just bought one light the DS XML 650 or the XTE 300 are a Mars hydro 700 are the Mars hydro Pro Cree II 256 , meaning instead of buying three lights
, I could of bought one big enough light to get better results in yield. So guess what @man10101 I’m about to buy another light now I’m more knowledgeable on growing and k ow the mere fact that with more intense light I can get a much bigger yield from one plant instead of three or four cramed in a small tent 2x2x5 . So to help you not make the same mistake, I was informing you my friend to please don’t make the anxious rookie mistake I made by being impatient, cause after a few grows you gone figure out you need more light are a bigger tent with bigger lights. It’s a few guys on here that have made the money spending mistake I’ve made on grow equipment three times over, and some are still spending. But if you get the right light the first time you won’t have to buy the same thing twice is my only advice, especially if your money is limited. I’ve seen guys grow with T-5 in the same tent and do well, some with CFL and do well, some with 250 watt HPS or 400 watts HPS hoods in the same tent but had heat issues but did well, so if you buy the right light first which a 400 watt name brand model would really give you that growing desire many of us that has been bit by that continue to harvest great medical cannabis for our needs. If you have to wait, than be patient cause if not I promise you later you’ll be spending in another light like many has done time and time e again. I’ve probably got at least a minimum of $5,000 invested on seeds, lights, fans, dehumidifier, humidifier, circulating fans, hygrometers, Co2 buckets, smart pots, soil, Clayton rocks, soil, hydro buckets, pumps, tubing, ducting, and the worst of all nutrients and additives cause you gone want to try them all once you figure out one brand, it’s a bug
my friend that you always want to improve your grow each time than you end up like most of us with growing stuff piled in the garage are she’d that you now have no use for cause you have new and more expensive growing stuff. But if you get the right light which is the primary key to a successful grow it’s the one thing you will not have to spend on two or three times over. Now if you want a really good light just look at Apache Tech AT200 or AT600 and compare it’s cost to Meizhi or Viparspectra!
well youve def proved its possible!
so now ive more to consider!!
after youre last comment ive now been looking at the 900w (£209) instead of the 600w (£159) viparspectra
the 1200w (£399) is jus a bit out of my price range?!?
and yes i did look up the apache lights you mentioned £1000!?! wow! if only!
now no matter what im never gona b able to afford a £1000 light so if u were on limited money what would you do?!?
im happy to take ur advice and wait (im in no rush!) and save for the 1200w viparspectra
id rather do like you said and get the best i can possible get rather than get something now and be looking to replace it in a matter of months!
If i remember correctly you made the comment about having a tent my size with two of these so i take it the viparspectra is a light youd recommend even if only at this price range?!?
so, if i may ask, if you had around £400 for a light would you buy one or is there a better alternative?!?
keeping in mind that i will only ever have a 80 cm X 80 cm X 160 cm tent (no choice biggest tent i can ever have) and will only ever be growing 1 - 2 plants max
oh and thank you for the pic of your set up!
Much appreciated!
I did some research based on the info from the community here and I think I’m going to get:
Apollo grow tent 48"x 48"x 80"
Vipar spectra LED 900 w
Will wait until my seeds come in before I make purchase, any thoughts appreciated
@yoshi. Bumped up my specs after your post, will have more ?'s coming as I proceed, thx for the ideas…
I have that tent and I am very pleased with it
I saw it on Amazon for $110, was gonna buy a Gorilla tent but the 2x4 lite line was 210. This was bigger and less $, thx for letting me know @Hawkeye_diesel!
You can run I think two 450 watt Meizhi Led reflector series for about $125 each which would be about $275 after tax and shipping? You can run a Marshydro Led reflector 192 410 watt $348 on Amazon are two Mars hydro reflector 144 317 watts for $284 on Amazon are you can do viparspectra reflector series 900 watt 418 watts for $299 or 2 viparspectra 600 watts 276 watts for $189 each , now it’s two different 900 watt vipars reflector series look at the design of the two one looks wider and the other looks more slender in length I don’t know the difference , are you can do the Mars hydro Pro Cree II 128 for $501 are 2 Mars hydro reflector 96 207 watts for $188 on Amazon. I think one or two of these models would work great for you. I have two Advance Led XTE 200’s which works really well in my tent but without fans I do get high temps that’s why I had to buy a 6 inch centrifugal inline fan çause the 4 inch could not control the temps with both, now with one it did but not after I added the second light. They cost me $569 and I got 20% discount on the second one as a return customer. But any of those selection I think you will do fairly well in your tent with 2 plants even 3 in 1 gallon pots on a short veg for four weeks in a scrog grow with topping. But again Sir it’s your investment so whatever you decide just be very selective and think about long term. The beauty of led you don’t have to replace bulbs after every other grow and they run fairly cool but with to your heat can exceed over 90 degrees easy. Now if you run 2 autos you can yield easily 4-6 ounces of some really dense bud as long as you keep everything in perspectives, water, feed and don’t over stress your plants. But this is just my opinion and I’m no expert. Now you can do YaeTek X5 1000 watt for $184 but I have no experience or knowledge on this light so you have to decide, I think any of these choices with ILGM seeds you will do very well.
