One tent One plant What light?

thats really nice!

will be my first ever grow so keeping it simple as pos
using a 2.6’ X 2.6’ X 5.25’ tent to grow just the one plant

Good luck man but beware. I let that plant do its own thing and she topped out at 6ft from the ground to top of cola. So you’ll probably have to do some training with only 5ft

thanks for the comment!
something else i need to consider

tents in the attic and its the highest i could get in there
and i also need to account for the distance i need to keep the light above the plant!
so say in a 5’ high tent with me needing to keep the light around 2’ above that means ive only got around 3’ to grow!?!
gona be one short and bushy plant!!

That’s the size of my tent and I’m running three led lights in there now trying to replace one with more output, but I’ve grown some monsyerous size plants in my lil tent and I’ve yield 36 ounces from an outside veggie g plant I put in a scrog once in my small tent so you can do really good in a 2x2x5 if you learn topping, super cropping, LST training and a scrog.

Yeah man, I would consider doing a scrog. I just finished my first. It’s under “I wanna try a scrog” if ya wanna check it out. My screen was 2 ft from floor so that’s about how high she got.

Get the 1200 watt if you gone run one light if not I’ll get two side by side to have a more intense spread. But viparspectra or Meizhi has quality lights for an affordable price. Remember the more light you have the bigger the return on your buds.

Wow! Thats a lot of words Ive never heard of!?!
Looks like Ill now be learning about topping (guess its where you cut off the top of the plant?!?) super cropping, LST training and whatever scrog is!?!

Just when I thought I was starting to get my head around everything!

I do understand 36 ounces though!
Thats over 1 kg!?!
Nice!!!

Yeah looks like ill def be checking that out
I have no idea what a scrog is!?!

1200 watt!?! And you recommend getting 2? Looks like I’ve got some saving up 2 do!?!

@man10101

this is your grow… you don’t need to go spend thousands for lights for your first one plant grow.

One plant a 300 watt light will work fine. They sell generics for as low as $90. You can add more lights as you go…

If you drive 5 miles at 30 mph in cadillac and then in a hyundai who will get their first? The guy that spent 50k or the guy that spent 10k.

the choice is up to you of course! Sounds like you’re having fun figuring everything out.

PS My goal was to start growing and not spend every dime I had doing it. I am in to the grow for about $200 I’m retired/disabled on a fixed income, but my $200 plant is gonna do just as well as the one that spent $1200 I did go buy an LED t5 replacement light bar for $20 delivered on amazon to provide some side lighting.

Thanks @bob31!
once again good advice!
yeah i am enjoying the learning curve
Its (or at least can be!) a lot more to this than i first thought
still thinking im gona keep it simple for my first grow though
guessing ill have to learn topping due to the height of my tent
other than that will leave the rest for when ive got a successful grow under my belt!

thanks @Savingpvtviper!
thats very helpful!!
gona leave scrogging till after my first grow but at least ive got this to study for when im next ready

I hear ya @man10101 you can top them and then run a scrog? Lots of options? I’m mainlining mine as it is the simplest way (at least for me) to keep my plant low.

It’s good fun either way or anyway you do it. Make sure your first purchase is a pH tester, a TDS tester, pH UP and pH down.

pH of your water is very important. Also remember that most municipal water services use chlorine or something similar in their water and you want to let that evaporate when using it. I even evap the water I use for seedling starting…

yeah ive not even started growing yet and im already having fun just finding out what i need!
it definitely helps with everyone on here (yourself included of course!) being so nice n helpful!

as said ive already ordered the ThermoPro TP50 Hygrometer and Thermometer you recommended and a ph meter and tds meter are now on my shopping list!
Will add ph up and ph down
Thanks again!

It’s good that you are gettin an understanding on how to and what you need to be successful in your grow. I would recommend checking out (site) they have some good tutorials on training techniques

@Aquaponic_Dumme, was there a problem with telling him about the edited site?

yep its a process. I procrastinated and finally bought seeds, which forced me to get serious about actually putting my grow together. I’m like you I like the bells and whistles and all the cool stuff, lol.

My budget is a reality check though. I do know that I’m going to save some serious money on buying MJ once I get rolling. I’m going to do a little expansion so I can grow and harvest every one to two months using two tents, but still only about 2-3 plants every harvest

I get almost as much enjoyment out of building and tweaking my grow as I do smoking it, lol

woah! Thats weird you mention them
I was on their site last night!?!

Yeah my plan is to learn and have everything set up BEFORE i even think about planting a seed
Im even going to get lights set up n running so i can then check tent heat and humidity so i then know what to buy to get heat and humidity to, and keep it where, it needs to be!?!

There you go brother, get it all set up and run it for a couple days so you know how it operates(temps and humidity, ext…) if you needs anything just holler at me.

ha! sounds like were quite similar… i like the setting up as much as the doing and ANY excuse to get ANY sort of new tool is a bonus to me!

Im even excited about getting the ThermoPro u recommended and ive still yet to decide on what tds and ph meters to get!

and i def agree on the money / budget side of things
im not loaded by any means but i have 2 jobs (just got in from work!) so can earn what i need to save up for what i need
Plus the thought of the money ill be saving (im in the uk where its around £220 for 1 oz or £10 for 0.8 - 1 gram!) more than makes up for the initial outlay!
