Good evening Growers. I am a fist time grower, using premium seeds, soil from { I LOVE to Grow Marij}, worm castings, fertilizer also from ILOVE2GROW Marij. Using distilled water only. Pro grow light… 17 inches from the light to the top Leafs, I have 2 plants growing in the same Big Fabric pot. Only water every 3-4 days. One of my plants has show a few Leafs, that seem to be very green, doing well, but they are “Turning UP” at the sides of the Leafs, like they have a ‘Charlie horse’ in their little fingers. The other plant next to it just showed the same problem. Any Ideas? Thank toy in advance… Scott
Pics always help us help you but without them I might guess light is too intense.
Not familiar with that light you mentioned.
What age are the plants…in veg or flower?
What size is the pot? You’re saying you have two plants in the same pot? As long as the pot is large enough you can do that with little to no issues.
Good morning. The plants are in Veg state, aprox 3-4 weeks old.the pot is a five gallon fiber pot. light is a " Barrina BU2000, 200 WATT LED GROW LIGHT., Plants are aprox 17" from the light.
This looks like the result of excessive heat and/or suffering from extreme humidity levels (such as very high or low humidity).
When the serrated edges of marijuana leaves curls or tipped up like that, it’s often a sign of temperature stress, overwatering/root problems or extreme humidity levels.
Good morning Caligurl. I have the plants next to a freestanding gas stove, that heats the backend of the house, so it gets kinda warm there. I have a small fan blowing on them 24/7. The humidity is about 65-80% most of the time, with temps usually 69* -78*. I water about every 3 days. The soil isn’t very wet, and I try to let it dry out some, before I water again.

When the stove is going and at its hottest, take you hand and place it between the stove and plant right at the same distance as the plant and see how long you can “take the heat” so to say
If you can basically hold your hand there and not feel to much heat then it may be ok.
But if after a couple of minutes or less your hand heats up and you can really feel the heat, then that’s probably the issue.
You can use the same hand test with lights also.
Just hold your hand over the top of the plant and see if it heats up, if so raise the light a little bit.
That is a good light for a 2x2 space at 200 watts.
Either hang it higher or dim it down based on their chart.
I think you’re hitting them with too much light. The center of the light is puts out a lot of PPFD and with those the size and age they are you should be hitting them with around 3-400 PPFD at this stage. As they get bigger and farther in veg than the tops should increase to 600 PPFD.
During flower you’ll want around 750-850 PPFD and that will be in the center of the light footprint.
You’ll see from using the 16” chart that they are getting hit with around 1000 PPFD assuming their charts are accurate.
Just too much too soon the leaves are curling to reduce the light they are getting hit with.
If you want the added heat the lights add keep it turned up but just raise it to around 21” or more. If you don’t need the extra heat you can dim them down and leave it there or adjust as necessary to give them around 350-400 PPFD
If you don’t have a light meter to verify there is an APP for the phone that you can use called Photone. May need to make a diffuser using 22lb paper strip over the camera lens.
This will allow you to better adjust the light to fit the plants PPFD range and adjust as it grows.
This could be an issue as the plants will be fighting over the nutrients.
How do I overcome High humidity? I have a very small fan blowing on them, but it is small.
**Any suggestions on leaf curl? 18/6 Lighting. Organic fert from Ilovetogrowmarij. Distilled water. Humidity 67-92 %. Room temp AVG 72. Seeds from quality grower. Barrina BU 2000, 200 Watt grow light at Aprox 22 inches from plant. 2 plants in a 5 gallon fiber grow pot.
Thank you so much…
That actually looks like wind damage or high humidity.
When temps drop, humidity rises. Here’s a better chart in relation to actual cannabis. You want to be in the ranges as stated at the top of the chart.
The question would be ‘how warm’? Then compare it to the chart and your humidity
Can you provide pic of entire plant not just those couple leaves.
Also it looks like environmental stress as caligirl stated
Most of the leaf’s look amazing!! Just a few, then a few more leaf’s start to curl. So will the leaf curl hurt the plant/growth? And production?
The leaf curl shows the plant has some stress going on due to environment which can slow the plant down. Temps humidity or light or watering practices.
Posted above was info on temp humidity and lighting usually affects the top growth but you have it down low too.
Water when soil is dry pot is light and then when watering give enough to completely saturate the soil and repeat.
Sometimes not letting the soil dry enough (oxygen deprivation) keeping soil too wet all the time can cause that look.
Do you think this leaf curl will effect the harvest? This CURL has spread to 60% of the plant now. I have watered it so it is really wet, as it was extremely dry when I tested it with a moisture meter. Im using the Organic soil and fertilizer from IL#GROWM. Distilled water only.so Im not sure what else to do.
