The song is about Ann Wilson (the acoustic guitarist) and Nancy Wilson (the vocalist) who were sisters, having a sexual relationship. The song was written to call out a music industry executive who made up the false story of the relationship to promote record sales.

“If the real thing don’t do the trick, you better make up something quick” These two ladies knew they had talent.

The lead guitar is prominent. There’s no place among the other instruments to hide if you make a mistake.
