Ok. So the first picture is of my 5 Clones and the 2nd is if all my plants minus my Autos which are doing terribly off by theirselves in another room. If Clones are supposed to be at the same stage as their Parent plant then how come mine aren’t and look more like seedlings or like they are just entering Veg State? Also, I guess I am finally ready to flip the bigger ones because there are Trichromes on each one. Not a whole lot, but still are there. Why are there Trichromes if I’ve got them still in Veg State. I have them in Veg State in the hopes that they will at some point all catch up to each other because I have only 1 tent and 1 4x4x4 foil lined space in that other room. If you care to read some, you can look back at my threads and see all of the issues I’ve had with these, except when I nearly lost 3 and brought 2 back and did lose 1, starting the day I put them into soil on November 30th. Yeah, it’s doesn’t seem so long when I write it out like that. Almost seems like they are right on track. Sure does seem a LOT longer, so I’ma go ahead this for y’all’s thoughts and hopefully a few recommendations on what I should do as far as to flip or not to flip. It’s been so long since I’ve had a successful grow that I’ve pretty well forgotten what to do. Thanks!
Thoughts on flipping, when tent is full or almost. Just flipped…
If nothing currently flowering may as well? They look right from here, can’t see trichomes
Environmental changes impact clone and plants from seed. Clones behave differently in different conditions. Contrary to the belief that they are a replica. They can be replicas if the exact same parameters are met. Environment + genes = phenotype. Expression comes with maturity, until then they can act funky until they get comfortable.
Makes sense to me. U think I will out the Clones in with the Autos until my tent arrives and flip the 5 Photos.
It’s not much, but there’s my sugar.
Fyi: this is what I was looking at at 6mos with my first grow. Now 6mos in to this grow you seen the difference. Smh. I thought it was a terrible yield but would about kill to have that again right now.
The clones have trichomes? Depending on when they were pulled it wouldn’t surprise me. They are technically mature plants. Let their roots explore and let them veg out for a while before flipping. Patients will pay off. If you want that yield, you gotta put in the time that is, if you have the time/room.
No, the Clones don’t. It’s the others.
Clones are genetically identical to their mom however, their environment is individual and unique.
Phenotypic expression of a particular plants genotype is heavily influenced by its environment.
As soon as you root a clone it starts becoming its own plant…exhibiting its own expression of its gentics in its own unique environment. Over time they will usually look highly uniform but you will always be able to spot differences in growth and expression.
Great explanation. The way I was taking it was that somehow they would just grow legs and stretch and be ready to flower at the same time. Which made zero sense to me and I couldn’t see gow that would happen. Now, 1 of them does have the little ticklers coming from its center but that’s the only one so far. I kept reading and reading different articles trying to clarify it and came up empty. So thanks for breaking it down where it makes sense. Here is thought I was just stupid and not getting it. You must be an educator?
The tall plant was Sheila she was the mother plant. Ruby is the shorter one with the thicker buds. She is the clone from the mother plant.
Sheila the top plant was my very first grosw since the '80s. And wanted to try to clone her and was glad I did. I harvested them both at different times also. I harvested Sheila after she was 20% Amber. Nice laid back buzz. I harvested Ruby when it was all cloudy. That is a get up and go buzz. I love them both.
Well do tell… What strain are they? You say you’ve been using Sheila as a Mother since the 80’s?! I’ve heard tales about them going that long but never did I believe a single one. Lol!
Sorry no my last grow was the 80’s. And haven’t grown till these ladys. Sheila was a year ago. And she is gone now. I got 6 total clones off of her before I ended up harvesting. But you can keep them in a veg state as long as you would like to and just keep taking clones off. Should be some good YouTube videos on it. Happy growing!
Ah. I misunderstood. But you still didn’t say her strain. If she’s super great, maybe I might try it out. Or at keast look up her best assets.
Grand Daddy Purple my favorite. Now I am growing Blueberry CBD. I have 2 plants.
And already got 2 clones off when I topped them.
Oh heck yeah. I usually don’t like an Indica, but got a hold of some GDP one time and took pictures of it, it was so beautiful.
