Currently im using Abriselux led but i was wanting to swap to the ipower hps with the vegative grow bulb but i wasn’t sure of the settings so i haven’t swapped yet

Welcome to the community , your light is a 150 Watt light so if you turned it to full output at about 21" to 25" height you would be fine for now. Also will definitely need more lighting in flower stage to produce solid buds. Good luck :v:

New grower but old user!! What light would work best for 6-8 plants in a grow room? Don’t want to waste money on something that won’t work for what the girls need. Thanks and all the advice is greatly appreciated!!

Welcome to the community , it’s more about the size space you plan on lighting up Efficiently than number of plants. Lot of growers here can help you to pick a Quality light that will fit your budget. Post Size of grow space.

The size of room is a 9x9 but we want to have a 5x8 designated space. Also I guess we need Mylar also.

So hps is still good lighting for flower. Metal halide is great for veg. But key point to that dimmer, if you are running on 600 watt, better to have a 600 watt bulb, if 1000w setting is selected, better to use a 1000w. Be prepared for heat. A 1000w hps will grow some dense nugs. But is alot of power and alot of heat loss. 600w is most efficient. Running that style of bulb dimmed is not really the way to go. Super lumens will diminish bulb life quicker as well. Good luck

One more thing, quality led’s in a general are sized to a min of 35w per sq foot of canopy. Old school hps is 50w per sq ft. A 1000w hps will flower a 5x5 but be slightly under that 50 watt per sq foot. It would cover a 4x4 more then enough

I like the way you think big , I will say this 5×8 space to light up Efficiently can get into some serious money. Personally I like HLG lighting @dbrn32 Can give you a couple of options.

Trimming a 5x8 that was ready all at the same time would be rough tho! Thats alot of smoke. Could pull 4 to 5 lb out of that. You may be able to go little smaller size to save on money and equiptment. Still could pull 2 lbs on a good run in a 4x4.

Yeah, I agree 4x4 space will produce a lot of buds an Can light up for about 650 to 700 bucks With quality lights.

This may be a dumb ? But how long are seeds good if you don’t plant all at one time? I was thinking doing 6-8 plants at a time. But don’t want the seeds to get dormant. Told ya, dumb ? How would I need to store them?

Seeds will keep for years if you put them in the fridge .

Agreed with @kellydans , kept in a refrigerator sealed and no light getting to them will last a while. I would only speculate after 5 years the % rate would start to drop.

I mean there is seed vaults in mountains and certain places that are stored alot longer then 5 years.
