Yes but let me explain first. What i mean is you have a 1000w hps/metal halide dimmable ballast, that has different settings. I fyou dim the 1000w bulb to 600w, you will reduce the bulbs life. Im sure you would think it would last longer but it would not. So on a 600w setting u could use a 600w bulb that would not have its life shortened because of. A 1000w will work on the 600w setting, but what they will not tell you is its bad for the bulb.

And wear some kind of rubber sterile glove to screw in the bulb. The oil from your skin can actually stick to the bulb and cause it to fail sooner as well. Veg height, i would research but 30 to 36" sounds about right for 1000w in veg. 18 to 24 in flower but i would be careful not getting to low.

Ahh you will have to measure the heat as 1000 puts off a lot of heat I run a 600 hps in winter, I don’t change from metal halide bulb to HPS untill I flip to flower.

I meant to post this yesterday. Here’s the original distance from the HPS vegative light. However, i have raised it a little more and put a fan on the light. I have it at 750. 1000 i cant control the heat or humidity. Any suggestions? I seen something about running it though my inline fan?

Scientists just germinated seeds that were many thousands of years old. If seeds are stored dry and cool they should last years

I like to exhaust hot stale air outside. And pull my fresh air from a controlled environment.

I second @kellydans you are going to have to run a setup similar to that as 1000 makes serious heat in summer and I highly suggest you figure the ventilation out beforehand. Good luck! U can grow some serious bud with 1000 watt HPS but that light bill!

In order to do that you need a air cooled hood with a glass lense and duct ports. U have open wing style. Definitely tricky in a tent. Basically the air from carbon filter is blown right over the bulb and right out the tent to the outside.

The hps will put off more heat. That might be a problem. I started off with a 1000 w hps in my 4x4 tent. Had to leave it partially unzipped. Now I have a bloom plus xp 3000 . Everything is cool.

Yeah I agree , HPS bulbs put off some Serious heat More favorable for a Winter grow or a colder environment.

Is there anything i can do. Where exactly is the air blowing? Bc like you say my exhaust has decreased? Im a visual learner lol so im :crazy_face: trying to think about this.

You can either put your filter inside tent or outside. Outside the tent gives you more headroom. The air will be pushed thru the filter. How old is your fan?

Your plants look good. What kind of soil are you using? Are you fertilizing yet?
