Agree with @Myfriendis410 Find a grower whose style and results you like and would like to emulate to get started. Then once you have a grow or two you can make adjustments based on your own experience.
I’d love to help but I’m growing my very first successful autos right now. I’m a photo grower for sure.
@Capt.Cola might be able to lend you some auto knowledge as well
I appreciate all the advice- i have browsed some grow journals and the form for a bit - have tried to just keep it fairly simple.
This is my third grow -
I I always have to ph down and have yet to have to go up - i use white vinegar to ph down as i was told the ph down i was using could kill beneficial microbes in the soil.
Anyone else want to chime in and recommend any action?
I am on the fence about flushing - love to hear more advkce on what to do next
Honestly i would flush, best to do own research and come up with your own course of action. You will get ten different answers and sometimes bad advice!. Could be by any1. You need to flush with fox farms period even though the mod disagrees. I do not do all three on the schedule but the middle flush which is 3 wks after flower, NEEDS it. Ive done many grows with fox farms nutes. Possibly going to convert to jacks bc of how many ppl and not just one person saying u can get by without it. Always between 6.3 and 6.8ph in soil Period. Best of luck growmie.
Thanks for the tag @AfgVet. I agree with finding someone to help you out. Try and follow one persons advice instead of looking for multiple opinions. That being said I’ll offer my take. It looks like two are fine one is possibly losing color from ph fluctuations or lack of nitrogen or lockout. The other looks like a combination of a couple things.
Walk us through how you water and feed. What’s your schedule? Ph going in is what? Are you watering to runoff?
I agree with all above that if you were to find some one to help for a whole grow. It would really benefit you. And Like said above. Some one that is in soil, similar or the same nutes and does autos. The guy above me @Capt.Cola may have all the boxes checked. It can be hard to help some one when they are trying to listen to to many others. Especially if they are much different than your grow.
Am I the only one in here who’s spell check is not working?
I check on the plants daily - checking for weight by lifting.
I typically i fill up 2-3 gallons of tap water (8.3-8.5) in a bucket a day or two in advance and let it air out.
I will check ph and ppm and adjust my water to 6.2-6.5
When feeding the nutrients i would add - stir -check ppm add - stir and adjust ph afterwards
I just recently started adding cal mag every other watering after stopping the nutrients
I was feeding fox farm trio from week 4-6 grow big and big bloom at 1/4 strength
I have fed tiger bloom twice in the last 10 days at 1/4 strength.
I was not watering to a true runoff each time until week 6 i believe. I have always been a bit weary of over watering i suppose.
Yes you want some runoff every time you water. This helps clear out any salt buildup and seems beneficial. I would water one time till runoff then the next I would feed till runoff and just keep rotating between feed and water. When I would feed I would aim for a little less runoff. I personally use cal mag throughout the grow. I’m not sure what you have is a cal mag deficiency though. Try to keep ph at or above 6.5 and no lower. If anything be between 6.5-6.9. I’m still thinking that some of the leaf issues are from fluctuations in ph or low ph levels.
That being said you have a done a great job to get here. Everyone runs into something like this at some point so no worries. Are you following the nute chart from fox farms?
I as well like to go in at 6.5 to 6.8. In fox farms soils the ph will tank hard after time. So i like to ph slightly higher to compensate to try and keep it at 6.5 runoff or slurry test. Just is something in my opinion you need to do in fox farms soils. But do not raise outside of highest ph range to compensate.
