Nutrient Deficiency or Light Stress?

Hello there, I have come for help! Thank you for taking the time to read my issues. I read the forum that has the prompt for discussing issues with plants, so I will post below and then follow up with pictures.

-What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed (photo or auto)- bag seeds
-Age of plant -1 month 8 days. or 40~ days old from sprout
-Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF - Miracle Gro Performance Organics
-Vessels: Type and capacity of container (fabric, plastic, etc) - 2 gallon black plastic container
-PH and TDS of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable) - I used distilled water in the beginning(not sustainable), so I started using rainwater I collect (could this be an issue?)
-PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable - N/A
-Method used to measure PH and TDS - N/A
-Indoor or Outdoor if indoor, size of grow space - Indoor 3x3 area.
-Light system List brand and wattage/spectrum - 1200w 120 pcs Off brand grow light (chinese made)
-Actual wattage draw of lights - they list the diodes drawing 10w each but upon further research I see the number can be misleading and I’m not 100% sure on how I would go about measuring that.
-Current Light Schedule- During sprout I did a 20-4 split, after more reading I switched to 18-6 for most of veg growth. Almost two months into grow so I would say the grand majority has been 18-6 photoperiod.
-Temps; Day, Night - Day temp average - 78-80 F Night temp average 72-74
-Humidity; Day, Night - My tent stays a pretty consistent 45%-55% humidity.
-Ventilation system; Yes, No, Size - Yes? No ductwork or anything but I have a stationary fan blowing across the plants on a low setting.
-AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier, - Plants are indoors so they use the AC, no specific cooling or heating elements in the tent. Nor do I have humidifier or dehumidifier.
-Co2; Yes, No - No / N/A

NOTE: I have used a 1:1:1 NPK liquid fertilizer from Dr. Earth. I have maybe used 100 ML of the bottle between two plants. I don’t think that would be enough for a salt buildup would it?

If I can provide additional information let me know! My first thoughts were light burn or Potas Deficiency, even over watering was a possibility. This is my second grow ever, my first being a single plant in a 5 gallon bucket that was self contained. Therefore, I definitely don’t have a lot of experience and I tend panic when problems like this arise. If you take the time to read through this thank you! I am open to criticism and advice from all!

Hi there welcome to the neighborhood :grinning:. Have you checked the ph going in and the runoff? Look under a few of the leaves and check for bugs. others will chime in shortly.

Thank you! I have not checked pH, I think that should’ve been my first step before the post
I’ll get that done tomorrow for sure. The growing medium I used is listed as 5.5-6.5 and now upon googling rainwater it sits around or below 5.5 . Possibly some pH burn going on?

6.5 is good but below 6 not so much.

Want to ph feed and or water between 6.5 and 6.8 for nutrient uptake.

For refrence.

I will definitely have to check for pH and get back to you guys, I was under the impression rainwater would be very good, maybe not lol

Nothing wrong with rainwater. Any water and or feed would need to be ph’d to 6.5-6.8. Tap is usually the stuff you dont want. I use RO but it can be spendy unless you have an ro machine. I buy it at .30 cents a gallon.
I use general hydroponics ph up and ph down but there are many ways to achieve the desired PH.

As for your plants. Its likely a calmag thing but im not a great diagnosticion. One will come along. They look otherwise healthy.
@beachglass is wise about checking for bugs too.

I think I’m understanding more now, more so tailoring your water/medium to the plants preferred range.

As far as bugs go… I have definitely noticed some “munching” on the leaves. Or that’s what I thought it to be at least. Only critter I have seem in there was a small green grasshopper and he was dealt with  . Is there something that caught y’alls eye that would lead you to think this is a bug problem? I snapped two pics quickly of the worst of the “munching”. Doesn’t seem very severe as of now.

NOTE: Notice the yellow leaves in the top of the second pic. Figured this was normal as well? I’ve plucked some weaker yellowing branches but those don’t really want to come off so I have left them.

Yes!

You are gonna want an inline fan. To vent the heat and humidity that will be filling your tent during flowering. Roflmao NM I see you have one prior. Obviously you can maintain desired threshold. Sorry get used to answering for 1st timers.

Any leaf damage is good to look for bugs.

Went to several stores today to find pH testing kits… no luck. Ordered one off of amazon just now so it will be here Friday. I’ll report what I find when I get it, testing both the water going in and the runoff.

I will definitely look into getting and inline fan setup to create a more stable environment…

Did you mean " cant maintain" ?

I recommend one with a temp and humidity monitor. Like an acinfinity fan and controler. Think Mars Hydro has a similar model.

You will want to stear the ph of what you pour into your plant. Ph up or down from General Hydroponics work great for this. You will want to ph water and feed solutions to 6.8 at the highest 6.5 at the lowest. Record the ph and tds of your runoff.
Runoff is great to show you trends of the ph, which can help you decide higher or lower the ph you pour in (did that make sense?) The tds of your runoff can tell you how much your plants are eating as well as when its time to feed again. When runoff tds dips under 1000ppm, its time to feed.
