cannabis and gambling are both about to go legal…we are running out of oil tax revenue so we need another way to support state tax so we don’t have to…
At least you don’t live in California
one the many things I like about Texas is the no state income tax…but oil has always supported this …
I miss that part of home for sure
@Budbrother you around buddy??
Talk to me about this Argentine Ants please.
Do I need to DE my medium?? Trash it???
No signs of a colony,eggs,brood.
Just random 5-10 of them under my cup/dome chewing the hell out my coty leaves. Plant is dead and gone now.
If you can take the plant outside and cover it with cinnamon it will repel them and empty the pot. If you don’t have eggs going on, then that’s that.
It was just a potted sprout. They attacked and chewed before it popped soil. I went diggin in and found them.
Still, not sure if Odorus or Argentine
From that blurry picture, I told her it it looks more like
Thanks
I dig the USDA and am working with them now on the farm
Does it look more like the Monomorium minimum? It has a longer segmented body than my ghost ants. Have you tried bugidentification.org
Yes and no
I believe it’s the Mono Min
Cinnamon ya say?
Luckily i dont see any signs of movement in my other plants.
I’ve been diggin lick a skitz looking for a shard
These are tiny specs like dust
Yes cinnamon. The ants were just running over top of the DE
They kept eating the sweet tasting berries with seeds. No more
Nice Lopho’s
I have 1 sick Willy left after my move.
More seeds on hand just need time
So the ghost ant…the first time I noticed I had a problem I seen the bugs.
My first thought was termites Body shape and translucent.
A day later same area same plant the bugs look like the pics I showed. Damn near black.
Thanks.
Sound like juvenile vs adults.
On which species?
Ghost
Or
Mono Min??
The Mono
Roger that and thank you much
Guess a trip to town for cinnamon tomorrow so I stay out the woman’s
Preventative measures?
I’m not a indoor soil grower, I’m trying
Early AM light bulb
So reading through what you provided I found this…
Keep plant and mulch debris away from foundation. Reduce moisture prone areas inside.
My only Infected plant was the only one I placed on the floor. All others are up on a tote Had just brought that pot to field capacity so it was definitely moist for a couple days and that’s all it took
Thanks again @Budbrother
Ants won’t cross over chalk. Another useful tool that can be utilized. Depending on the floor type, you can draw a circle around them. My kids and I used to draw mazes and race ants, or just circle them and watch em frantically go round. It’s a great tool for animal food bowls outside.
I have been known to reroute their pheno trails
