From what I’m able to understand when the trichomes are cloudy is when they’re at their Peak for THC, the Amber is degraded THC and or CBD.
Personally I like all cloudy and about 10% Amber, but this varies by strain
Oh ok. Back to watching grass grow. Lol. Any pre harvest rituals actually real? Like two days in the dark before harvest. Etc. thanks for the tips and direction. Part of me didn’t think I’d get this far.

All you can really do is decide whether you want a more cerebral Speedy buzz or something to smoke and fall asleep to, or maybe somewhere in between, monitor your trichomes and take your best shot, you’re not going to get it perfect the first time but in time you will
So it’s like pizza. No matter where you get it it’s still pretty good. It’s all so interesting. I thought that was just how I reacted to smoke. Feeling like I was in that ride at the fair where they spin you around and centrifugal? Force pulls you to the wall. Couch lock I hear people call it. Easier to Reference than -I feel heavy ya know?. Lol. Was excited to hear about peppy strains instead of getting whatever crap u can out here in the south east.

When people say red hairs, they are referring to the pistils. They typically go from white to red and or brown. Many (but not all) growers like 70% or more to be red/brown vs. white.
Re trichomes, I’m still learning to differentiate myself, but doing a few internet image searches for trichome color will give you a good idea what each stage looks like. It is commonly believed that mostly clear will mean that it’s not ready to harvest (although Norman correctly points out that not everyone subscribes to that view). As they get mostly cloudy, you tend to get a very cerebral high, and as you get into mostly amber colored trichomes you start getting bud with the ‘couch lock’ effect. This is because as the trichomes become amber they start breaking down slightly and converting THC (cerebral stone effect) into CBD (more of a narcotic effect). Some people like a high amber content, but be careful to not let it degrade too long or you will lose potency.
I think @paranorman is right on the money when he says it’s more of a personal preference. It’s a little like making the decision of how long to age a bottle of wine for. The same bottle could be wonderful young or maybe even better aged, and sometimes the only way to know is to experiment.
Have you thought about clipping a few buds now for drying and letting the rest go another week or two? You could harvest in stages, dry and cure a bit each week and then see which batch you liked best. Plus, you could get some now that will be ready to smoke in a week or two, and I’m experiencing the same inner conflict now with my own bud 
It’s like You’re in my head man lol. I was turning back on my cfls and smaller led panel for side lights looking to plump Little buds at the bottom. Was thinking if I clip the bigger bud shoots and leave little ones would they grow up. Was thinking I’d chop on Friday at 90 days but may take to 100 depending on the trichs and hairs of course Maybe just hash the lil buds. I ordered a nut bag for almond milk etc thinking I’d make ice water blender hash but I think it’s 200 micron so may get a 100 micron bag too. Not too concerned as I like almond milk Hopefully I didn’t already say that. I frequent another forum and think I repeat myself on occasion. Hash plans on assumptions that I’ll have enough trim to make any. Nothing to draw upon so everything is the first experience. Still wondering whether to do coco/perlite or fox farm soil for next grow. I might have two weeks left in this one, but I don’t really know how fast hairs change
I read an article pretty handy. I think sub cool wrote it on trichs and hairs. Said clear looks like glass while cloudy more like plastic. I did see a red trich or two but that’s not much out of a bunch
I’m in almost exactly the same boat. I’m on grow #3, but I’m still waiting for my first grow to finish. So many things I’m encountering for the first time. It’s fun, exciting, and more than a little nerve wracking. 
Yes and not to put a downer on things but the elephant in the room is once I chop -legal probs greatly diminish. In my state lowest cultivation level is 10 pounds or less

Well… I don’t really know, I looked with the scope but I really couldn’t tell the difference, they look pretty frosty before going in the dark so ?

What a coincidence. I was considering auto ww for next purchase. Lol. Is it especially fragrant during grow? Trying to be somewhat discreet. I’m not the best judge as my sense of smell Isn’t the best - I rarely smell my northern lights I guess the half price caught my eye away from ordering elsewhere
Mine wasn’t and Auto. The only time I get a strong smell is when I open tent up after dark period, but I have a big carbon scrubber so it’s only noticeable for a minute or two
I’ll bookmark this and come back when I try it and post. I’m looking forward to rolling some up for a little test drive this weekend !

Idk. Plants in dark now. Idk if it matters but gives me time to prepare. Probably just hang with wire. Might get a humidity gauge. Don’t really want to run a dehumidifier. Maybe I’ll get a damp rid bag or something. Looking for mason jar lids. Plenty jar no lid. Usually just drink outta them Got pickle jars

Is laying them on mesh decent. I heard hanging is better with the upside down action. Or is that just more bro science or bs. Lol. Sometimes I realize one way better. But it is like cognac vs malt liquor or. Nike vs new balance. Coke vs Pepsi. Ya know ?
@Jheezy The most time-tested way to dry bud may be:
-hanging upside down in a dark closet or designated grow tent
-keep a fan indirectly circulating air
-maintain a reasonably low and steady temperature and relative humidity
-good luck
