@Razzledazzle this is a thread you should check out way smarter people than me on lights over there.

Ive made up my mind. Im getting 2 of these unless you tell me theyre junk.

I believe two would be great and i could get by with one if I wanted to split grows… Is that right? One light covering a 2x2 canopy? Im just thinking ahead I might want to run autos while photos are vegging up. Im not sure but Id like options. I was looking for seeds and suprised to see this group sells them! I guess the next thing I need to change is my medium. Ill get some coco base next time and supplement with tomato fertilizer. Hopefully Ill get good buds with that. Im honestly always excited for the plants to even grow and stay healthy. I didn’t know I’m missing out in bud density by “saving money”.

Those aren’t junk. Several people on forum use those lights. From what I’ve seen the ones that use them are happy with them. They’re not the " best" but decent for the money.

Do you think one light would flower a 2×2 canopy on its own if I wanted to start others in another portion?

I’m no lighting expert, but based on listed specs it should do fine. I scanned through thread and wasn’t sure if you were on a tight budget or just not sure about spending more than necessary. Have you looked at Horticultural Lighting Group lights. I also would recommend checking out Budget Led lights they are very similar to HLG. If you’re on a budget and can’t go anymore on price then I think the Mars hydro would work.

I will check them out. I guess im half on a budget and half dont want to spend too much. I have a small grow space and dont ever plan on doing too much where I live right now. I need to be pretty discrete. Speaking of, if I grow in an outdoor closet like apartments have, do you think I would need to vent it back in the building to the attic or would the smell disappear in the breeze? Its on the second floor. The closest people would be my downstairs neighbors, would it smell 10 feet away if the door was closed? I keep reading about vents but I’ve never grown “indoors” and dont know how bad they smell.

Thanks for all the input

Once they go to Flower they will put out a pretty strong smell. As far as growing in what would be a outside storage space will you be able to control temperatures in space. Ideally you would also need to vent fresh air in and old air out. These are really resilient plants but, you can have a lot of problems if you don’t control temperatures. I won’t say it can’t be done in storage closet but it could be challenging to keep plants healthy unless you can control environment.

I giess I could leave the door open. I didn’t think about the air flow. It would be hot in the summer too. I ha e another spot indoors I could vent to the attic but Id rather have it on the outside. I guess thats something else to think about. Would they adapt to the heat if I started them off in that environment, provided its a good strain for hot environments. Its naturally humid here. I was also wondering, do organic fertilizers make that much difference over chemical ones if they get flushed anyways?
There were a lot less decisions when I just put them in the dirt.

Exactly, you’re essentially trying to create indoors what happens naturally outdoors. As far as leaving door open that might cause problems due to light schedule. I’m not saying environment has to be perfect. But if you have wild swings in temperatures like heat building up in day time heat and then quickly cooling off at night it puts a lot of stress on plants. If you have a closet or small area indoors you would be able to control everything better from temperatures to humidity and also light schedule. If plants have to many stressors like heat and humidity swings and then add the possibility of light leaks it can cause plants to hermie on you.

Has anyone seen this book? I just found it working on a grow space, I got it when I was like 16. It says it was printed in 78 lol

I never read it all back then, it got pretty scientific. I might have another go now

The medical growers Bible by Jorge Cervantes is a must as well… Then living soil and microbes or go to plant anatomy & hydroponics… the educational materials are endless… just like the possibility’s of training and cloning… sooo many avenues that’s why it’s a cult … ok maybe not cult… no noni think cult… LMAO

Yep, that video has been posted several times on other threads. :+1:

*Brown spots coming up

I know its a vague pic but any suggestions? Browning leaves in two spots. I take them outdoors for sun too so it might be a pesticite. Until I transfer again, they are sitting in the miracle grow potting mix. Otherwise seem pretty healthy

I just repotted my strongest plant to keep for clones. She sat in MG PS for 2.5 weeks or so after the first early leafsets and at the advice of everyone I switched to organic with perlite. I tried to clean loose MG soil from the root cluster then watered the inner root ball well. I transplanted in the organic and flooded to pot to give the roots and soil a final washout. Soil is still swampy but no standing water and should dry considerably over night. I have some questions.

  1. When should I add nuts now that I’m in a base organic. Can you suggest one good one for flower and one for veg? Has anyone made the banana stuff?
  2. How long should I wait before bottom DF? She lost some root mass when I was trying to unbound her.
  3. I noticed that about 3 inches under the soil solid stalk. Can I scrape to start higher root growth? Most roots are growing down and out bound up the bottom and leaving the top free.

Any advice is appreciated.
