No smell at end stage flowering

I have a gorilla glue at 8th week of flower. She has beautiful flowers, crystally , trichomes are cloudy but there is no smell at all. Just an earthy faint smell. I have dried a bud and she smokes up ok but no taste, no smell. This is really bothering me. Why would this happen please?

@Mollyjack Welcome to the forum.
There are several factors that effect terpenes, one of which is heat.
If your tent is too warm the smell will cook away.
In fact its how I keep the smell down in the house. I grow at a higher temp.
I lose some quality for sure, but im such a lightweight that an ounce lasts me 6 months or more.

Welcome, @Mollyjack
Shout out to @Spiney_norman ,I feel your pain. As my late father would say,“hotter than a hooker on dollar night out here…”
I grow outside and also deal with severe heat. I have grown indoors also under intense heat, and I concur the smell will cook away.
The neighbors do not complain, but maybe it’s because I look like Suge Knight and seem intimidating :smiling_imp:

SL out.

Hey Audiofreak, I start counting from the week the flowers first start to show. I am not sure if I am doing it right as first time grower

That’s the way I do it. From first sight of pistles.

Hi Spiney. Thank you so much.I am growing outside and we have had a very crap Summer with not much hot weather but my autos got good weed smell. Just not my photo girl. She smokes up nicely but I love a good smelling weed.

Thank you Slug. I feel like we missed out on Summer here in Oz. El Nina stuffed alot of harvests

Thank you Calizona for making me feel welcome

I find the smell can become very weedy near the end of most flowering what you should do is rub the stem with your fingers and smell them and that’s what the Terps will be like after you clear out the chlorophyll (usually about 2 months of curing)

Looks nice. Still lots of white pistils going. Got some time stl 3 to 5 weeks id say for killer buds. The smell may come back or come to as the mature a slight bit more. They look ssuper good nice job for sure. B patient. Wait til u see all the white hairs turn reddish orange and start to recede back in. Whick they really dont recede the calyx just swells around the pistil and fills in around the pistil. The pistils recede when the get pollen on them i know for sure. Good luck b patient and welcome to ILGM

Heya GreenSnek. I did that and it has a faint pine, earthy smell. Just pulled up the rest of Girl scout cookie extreme auto and it stinks the house and front yard. I don’t think I will grow the gorilla glue again, I expected so much more.

Thank you Mark. It looks good, and I dried some and it actually gave me anxiety. The THC without the terpenes isn’t very nice but I will do as you suggested and wait. It’s the hardest thing to do, to wait.
