New to using Trellises

I’m starting a new round of plants, and have finally upgraded to an indoor tent. I have never used a trellis before, and am finding mixed information online.

Should this be put up while the plants are still small and I can manually find a hole for them, or should I slap this on after the plants have some growth and just bend them underneath?

Any advice would be great.

Plant/plants have to be large enough to reach the screen before installing. Has to be done during veg as plants will harden off in flower. I like to populate at least 90% of the screen before I flip to flower. Then tuck as needed. I prefer a rectangular screen as it seems easier to thread branches through without breaking.

@merlin44 is a great SCROG user. @Not2SureYet is another and he uses bungee cord and clips: makes it easy to remove plant from the screen at harvest.

Thanks @Myfriendis410 It was actually Myfriend410 that got me into using scrogs. I use shower rings for the pvc. And this cord here for the lines. It makes it easier to tuck and the lines remove easy for harvest time.
